The property was old but the room was nice enough. A little smaller than anticipated. The huge drawback was the noise from the plaza. And I dont mean from normal shopping traffic. The first night we were there (Friday) was terrible. Young people (ages 17-25) started to congregate as the sun went down. By 10pm the whole plaza was full of parked cars and kids hanging out, playing loud music and racing their loud vehicles around the plaza square. It was so loud, we tried to keep the TV volume up enough to drown out the noise and sleep. It didnt stop until around 2am. The next night (Saturday) kids did not congregate in the plaza, but the loud cruising and speeding through the plaza started around 11. And noise of these cars was going on all around the plaza area. It was surprising that nothing was done about the disruptiveness that first night. We have stayed in 5 different hotels in Taos, and there are nicer ones that are quiet for a similar price. We will not stay here again. It is not worth the noise. Just beware if you choose to stay here.
