We stayed here for almost two weeks. Kelly was amazing. She was always whipping up different types of breakfasts. She was so cute and so talkative. Her food was really good. Super friendly staff.

The staff overall was very friendly. The property was fixed up nicely, good secure lockers, and fun things to do in Hilo. The free tours were a great surprise. I enjoyed the Kona Beach day, Green Sand Beach hike and the chasing waterfalls (twice). Cool people from around the world... Very Spective Earthian!

This place is amazing! If you're looking for a getaway from many other tourists, don't mind sharing a separate, common kitchen with some other folks, and enjoy some fantastic recommendations from your hosts, this place is for you. I booked a night here since it was close to the airport and our accommodations for the trip were far and we we’re arriving very late. I called ahead let them know of our late arrival. Turns out our flight was delayed twice making our arrival even later. Arriving into Hilo at 0130 was not the easiest. We couldn’t get a Lyft, Uber, or taxi. Booked this room thru Expedia 10 minutes before showing up at the place. We were warmly greeted by the owners and they assisted us in taking our luggage in. They let us chose between the 2 rooms they had available. They were amazing hosts. They offered us hot and cold beverages and snacks. They even drove us into town and dropped us off. Very peaceful, quiet and clean!

A hidden gem in an old style Hawaiian hotel by Hilo Bay. The room was impeccable in cleanliness, amenities and comfort. Beautiful surroundings on Banyan Drive with so much outdoor activity at your doorstep.

This isn't a hotel. It is closer to an AirBnb/High-End Hostel. Either way, it is awesome. We stayed in the guest house. The bed is amazingly comfortable and I slept great. Clean, friendly and a beautiful view of the ocean.

Large clean room with access via a veranda to a tree shaded backyard with tables and a barbeque. Best breakfast with a variety of generous choices of eggs, meats , fruits or cereals, jams and cream cheese ( whatever is in the fridge as a fair game). The cottage is located within 3 minute walk from a beach next to million dollar homes., and a short drive to other beaches, parks and waterfalls, museums and everything else the east coast of Hawaii has to offer. No bells or whistles - basic accommodation. Had free breakfast which was good but had weird system. Still we were able to eat enough.

Was with daughter and grand twin girls in there big rental house for week near Pahoa by coast. Decided to stay extra 5 days on short notice as Kilauea volcano was lighting up Lava lake. Did not need 400$ nite place as by myself. Found Hilo Vacation Rental at 85$ nite on Expedia for room queen bed, lots of storage, Tv, internet fast and porch area French doors to dry snorkel stuff. Was shared common areas and bath was very nice and never had problem with guests as seems was always available....

If you want a unique experience with then this is the place for you. Volcano Inn is located in the middle of the rainforest, which is amazing. Jon and Lauren were friendly and super helpful. It was a wonderful experience and I will certainly be returning!

We stayed in the Ohia Ranch Retreat room. This was easily the most beautiful room we’ve ever stayed in. The aesthetic of the stained wood beams, hard wood floors and furnishings was outstanding. There was a real attention to detail. The bed was also tied for the most comfortable bed we’ve slept in and reminds us that we have to replace our bed at home sometime soon. Blonde lady in the gift shop not friendly when checking in and out. She was talking to another male employee about other employees. Discuss business about training modules. Not friendly at all. Did not feel welcomed at all. In fact felt we we interrupting her day and she did not want to be bother with us. Spend a lot of money to stay her and was not welcomed. I wanted to purchase several items in the gift shop and passed.
