A beautiful historic site in the rolling hills of Vermont not far from from the Connecticut River and the White Mountains. An excellent restaurant and bar. The restaurant serves breakfast and dinner. Our room was large and comfortable. Excellent parking. A helpful and friendly staff. Attractive grounds. Highly recommended.

I have 10 years experience working for several boutique hotels, so (perhaps unfairly) was not expecting such a pleasant stay at a name-brand hotel. But our clean, comfortable room, the friendly staff, & an inviting dining area with a very good breakfast buffet all proved otherwise. As a family of 5 we found the double-queen room was a good choice, and with the breakfast included an excellent value.

The hotel offers you exactly what you looking for ! Comfort , beauty and peace ...! It's highly recommended for couple of days of pleasure !

I had let them know before we arrive that I'm sentient to fragrances and chemicals and they did all they could to make sure that the air was roomed out and that it was exceptionally clean but didn't smell like fragrance and chemicals! Very accommodating and very friendly.

great place to stay

You can tell the owners take great pride in what they are providing for their guests. The Allegory is a sweet older home turned inn. We stayed on the top floor (3rd) which is a suite with bedroom, bath, kitchenette and living space with pullout couch. They had thoughtful amenities in the bathroom and it was clean. Cute New Hampshire vibe with antiques and bear theme. Coffee and continental breakfast in kitchen is casual and help yourself. Owners are working hard on updates around the inn and it...

Cute little getaway lodge. Affordable and cozy. Loved the heater in the bathroom

We had a great stay. Went up for a wedding and found this place to spend the night. The check in was smooth and everything went even better from there. We had two rooms. One with double for our older children and one for us. Cookies put out in the lobby which were very good. Rooms were good size with room to move around in and nice and clean. They were well stocked with any incidentals that someone might need. Beautiful view off the back deck where we had breakfast which was included in the...

Brand new owners, absolutely delightful couple. The owner saw me clearing snow off my car and he lent a hand. It is a handsome property, originally a farmhouse built in 1791. The food was excellent, a different menu for breakfast and dinner every day, stressing local produce as much as possible. Good bar, with 1st class wine list & cocktail selection. First class linens (Supima cotton on bed) and Gilchrist & Soames toiletries. Plenty of bathroom linens. Ample heat available in the...

Nice amenities. Good coffee and tea bags. Convenient to Franconia Notch State Park.

This property is great if you are looking for an Inn right on the river to lull you to sleep. Where bald eagles and osprey fly by while you are eating a delicious homemade breakfast. Swim in the river or just sit and cool your feet. The pierce bridge is a local icon that is within walking distance. The beds are comfy. The people are welcoming. It’s just a really nice place that I will be back to.

The accommodations and the staff were amazing. I will definitely be going back again and I recommend this property to everyone I can.

We stayed at the Franconia Inn in mid-November and it was a perfect stay! This area is very rural and the inn offers one of the only restaurants in the region, which made meals very easy. Thank you for offering take out to our room!! Our room itself was adorable, not at all a stuffy B&B, and it was relaxing hanging out by the multiple fireplaces and in the game room. The property is gorgeous and you feel a million miles away while still being in the center of everything. Will be back again!

The staff was very knowledgeable and courteous. The pool was very warm although the pool towels are very very tiny. The continental breakfast was good. The hotel was very clean. I wouldn’t hesitate to stay there again when I am in the area. Thank you for a pleasant visit.

This is a historic building well over 100 years old. If you appreciate the charm that comes with a hotel like this, you won’t be disappointed!

Elsa and Chad are the best! :) They are the new managers of Highland Lodge, and they could not be more delightful! Caspian Lake is terrific (mere steps away), and the lodge provides all manner of kayaks, canoes, paddleboards and more. There is tennis and walking trails and every activity you and your family could want! In the evenings, enjoy a specialty cocktail on the porch that overlooks the lake and watch the sunset. Or enjoy one of the nightly food truck options (Sunday - Tuesday) or a...

Property, while having stunning mountain views just outside your door, had a nostalgic charm to it. I don't know how they do it, but the tub, sink etc seem like they were plucked right out the 60s, but are still in excellent condition. Same for the mid-century modern desk and nightstand. Guess that's a testament to the very personable and hard working staff taking great care of the place. Thanks for a wonderful stay!
