"Old character hotel short walk to waterfront "
This old hotel goes out of its way to maintain it's historic charm. It has cool antiqe furniture and funky patterned carpets over creaky floors. It is a short walk outside the hustle and bussel of the touristy waterfront. You pass by older Victorian homes on the walk which makes it all that much more quaint. The room was clean and comfortable and had the old style hot and cold ribbing shower. Ice cold lemon water or coffee in the lobby added a nice touch.

"a mixed bag"
I'm going to preface my comments by stating that I stayed at the hotel during a warm spell late spring. The pros: The location in the heart of downtown was perfect for my needs (as opposed to one of the James Bay hotels, where I usually stay). Super comfortable bed. Friendly staff - although there were no issues which they had to deal with with me. Room was clean. The cons: My single room didn't have a desk or chair, which would have been nice. The lack of electrical outlets. I had to unplug a lamp to use that outlet, and charge my cell phone in the outlet in the bathroom. The lack of AC. I don't usually need AC, as I would much rather just open a window to get some outside air. However, I was in a room in the front of the hotel facing Douglas St which faces west (rooms 01 to 05 on each floor). So the window being open was a bit noisy. In addition, the sun was beating brightly into the room late afternoon, which made me have to close the curtains, making the room devoid of natural light. And at night, because there are several drinking establishments on site, it didn't make sense to open the window since many people congregate on the street outside the bar to smoke. I'm not sure if the same problem exists on rooms facing in any of the other directions. At the continental breakfast in the morning, the staff could have cleaned tables more often. I ate breakfast mid morning both days of my stay and trying to find a clean table in the largely empty dining room was a challenge.

"Typical 3 star hotel"
As long as you are not picky this hotel works great for getting around Victoria. I loved that they had free underground parking for my car. The hotel was clean enough, but not fancy...a bit old. We found the bed comfortable. It was only a few blocks to walk to the waterfront. There was no view from the window so we kept the curtains closed, so the room was a little dark. We didn't spend much time there anyway. If you are expecting a 3 star hotel and price know you get what you pay for.

"Affordable Suite Hotel Close to Everything!"
A delightful harbor hotel that offers the spaciousness of a suite and a kitchen. The staff was responsive in every way possible and friendly. The free breakfast was lovely and peaceful -- without all the TVs in your face. Instead you look out to a flowering garden. Also, the Admiral Inn is a special place to quietly rest your head in comfort each night. Ahhhh! This hotel is ideally situated a short walk from IMAX/Museum, the Government Buildings, the Empress, restaurants and shopping. Walk the other way to Fishermen's Wharf and Beacon Hill Park. It is adjacent to the ferries. Its condition is older, a little worn, yet clean and well maintained. It is hard to find an affordable suite hotel in downtown Victoria. We will be back!

"Added Touches of Humor"
We really enjoyed our stay at The Accent Inn. The hotel reception staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was clean and very comfortable, However, what makes this hotel unique, is the added points of humorous notes left about the room, (i won't go into details as I don't want to ruin it) The only thing that wasn't as pleasent was the breakfast attendant. She seemed to get easily annoyed and a bit snippish. She was warm to some but not so much to others. However, that wasn't a big deal, and our stay there was one of the most enjoyable on our trip. Also, make sure you take time to eat at the restaurant attched to the hotel, BIN, It has the best burgers I've ever had! Their menu is unique too, offering various sauces and unique side dished. It is a popular place, so be prepared for a wait at peak times. If you're a guest at the hotel and place a to go order, they'll call your room when it's ready.

"Nice place between the airport and Victoria"
Comfortable room in an oldish motel that could use some updates. The room came with breakfast (adequate but never changing) which is a plus especially if your stay is short. Staff were very friendly and the maid service was excellent.
