Hotel has a great location. The staff is super helpful. We stayed in room 92 and I would recommend avoiding it as it lacks any privacy. You are right of the lobby and your window is eye level with the canal and there were workers out there all day.

We felt a little worried when we arrived, and being asked to go to another close-by building, but we were pleasantly surprised and overwhelmed by the reception. Hans in reception was absolutely delightful, courteous, and responsive. We had an upgraded room which was simply beautiful and roomy. The hotel front staff at first building too where excellent, where we enjoyed our breakfast overlooking the start to the Grand Canal - magnificent!!!!
Only thing that spoilt it was at breakfast in the main hotel, the hot water for tea, and the coffee, where mildly warm at best and could have done with proper water boiling facilities. Food though, was excellent too.

Great location, stunning rooms, perfect service... I highly highly recommend this hotel. I can only think of one thing negative - the breakfast room is charmless compared to the opulent perfection of the rest of the hotel

The staff is here are top notch. They are friendly and helpful in every way. Communication is no problem as everyone here speaks at least two launguages, English especially helpful for me. The Hotel is very clean and the rooms are modern and very comfortable. Breakfast is wonderful. The location is a 15 minute walk to the St. Marks Square area very quiet.

very attentive staff,, nothing too much trouble. hotel wanted extra 300 euros for 2 nights to upgrade to lagoon view, so stayed in very nice room overlooking the city very clean and comfortable. breakfast was excellent with plenty of choice and all very fresh tea and coffee also good and freshly squeezed orange juice a bonus. purchased the 3 day travel ticket for the boats and this also gave us return travel by bus from the airport. this was a special place to visit but you need to plan before you go to make sure you see everything. we stayed for 3 nights but 4 would have been better.

Bordering San Marco and the Rialto and stretching east to some of Venice's quietest greenest parts, Castello is the city's most varied 'sestiere'. Its most famous aspect is the Riva degli Schiavoni waterfront next to the Bridge of Sighs, with picture-postcard views onto the lagoon. Yet a few yards from the tourist hoards, the backstreets are quiet and typically Venetian. There are many outstanding churches and art collections in this area.
