We had a great time in Venice. We booked the deluxe canal view, the room itself was lovely however the bathroom was very basic, the shower head itself had no attachment to the wall so unfortunately we had to sit down and hold the shower head to wash.
We were really disappointed with the breakfast. We went down in the morning to find the owner had taken up 3 of the tables with his paperwork, eventually he moved them so we could sit but the table was not set for breakfast. We weren’t given any options on what’s to have, just offered orange juice and a coffee. We were then served shop bought brioche buns, bread rolls and Melba toast, no butter or jam or anything. It was extremely basic and not good enough for a bed and breakfast. We were so hungry that we had to go out and buy breakfast which was an additional cost we didn’t foresee.
Being half Italian myself I know the standard it should be at breakfast so I was very disappointed. I even overhead the owner ask his colleague why we were only served this for breakfasts in which she replied that was all that was available. The fact the owner himself noticed it says it all.
I can’t fault the service and the location of the hotel but I wouldn’t choose to stay there again.
