“impressed”

let's see, first room was nice...comfortable, clean...then we got moved to the suite...which was the best!!! great!!! clean...accommadating...and loved the view..they ended up moving us for a night to another suite..which needed some work...screen in bathroom fallen off, cup/toothbrush holder, broke off in master bathroom..terrible odor from the previous occupants..which was as if they friend up fish and the grease was burnt..couldn't get rid of the smell...the other thing that we did not like was that people were allowed to put their towels on the chairs at the pool early and some never showed up till later in the late afternoon...no one could sit there cause of the towels...should not be allowed..not sure if the bites we got were from the second suite or the zoo..but overall excellent service...very worth the trip. the rating below reflects the first two rooms we stayed in!!

“I have stayed at many hotels, I think this is the best ever”

You will walk in to the hotel and as you do you see the ocean in front of you it is fantastic . You are six floors above the ocean. You are greated by front desk and the enjoyment begins. I found that they are the very help full and truly want you to have a good time with the time you spend with them. The rooms are clean, beds are great. you have all you need in the room if you wanted to just stay in in. But you will want to go to dinner or the bar that is on site. The food is to kill for. The best part are is all the people treat you as if you are Kings and Queens. I would recommend Costa Sur to every one. I just can't say all the good there is.

“Wonderful Puerto Vallarta Location”

We were very happily surprised when we arrived, they upgraded us for free to a one bedroom, two bath unit, instead of a studio! Where else can you stay with a huge oceanfront balcony, one bedroom, two baths with a full kitchen for that price. The food at the resort left something to be desired, but you can take the bus, 50 cents and 10 minutes later be right in town and eat/shop anywhere you like. The swimming lagoon was wonderful. We've been going there for 30 years. The maintenance of the property needs some work, but it is a quaint, relaxing resort atmosphere.

“The best Howard Johnson EVER”

This hotel just was bought by Howard Johnson. It used to be Costa Sur. It is beautiful. It is a little south of downtown Puerto Vallarta, but there is a bus that drops you off right in front of the hotel. You can take a bus to downtown for about $0.50 & it is well worth it. It is always fun. The rooms are good. It looks like they are updating piece by piece. I stayed in a studio. All studios have a kitchenette & an ocean view. The kitchenette had older appliances, but they all worked fine. The room itself is kept up nicely. The pool is not huge, but big enough. There are 2 small pools, 1 heated, 1 is not. There are steps right to the beach which is awesome. Since it is away from downtown, the only people at the beach are the ones staying at this hotel. I would recommend this hotel! The studio was more than enough room for 2 adults and 1-2 children. I cant wait to go back to Costa Sur/Howard Johnson.

AMAZING OWN LITTLE AQUARIUM, GREAT VIEW, THE PRIVACY IS PERFECT, NEEDS TO HAVE FREE INTERNET, AND ALLOW VISITORS, BECAUSE AFTER 11:00 I COULDN'T BRING ANYONE OVER. I MUST COME BACK.

We had a car so it made it easy to drive into town but the hotel is very nice. We loved the pool areas, and the service around the pool grounds was great. It was relaxing and we had no problems at all. The rooms are pretty big and comfy the only bad thing was the bed a little hard but we sleept ok. We stayed two days but if I ever go back to PV I would love to stay there again. When we where driving into town I got to see the hotels closer to the city and when I arrived at my hotel I was so happy I choose it because the area it is in is much nicer and you are surrounded by green mountains not streets and drunk people. I am 26 years old so I can deal with the party people but it was so great to have older people around me and not the noise. I recommend eating breakfast at the hotel it was the greatest thing and thwe cooks are super nice and helpful. If you are looking for a super nice hotel but not the high prices this is a winner!

We enjoyed our stay and would go back. The restaurant and bar staff were understaffed. We had to go to bar and get our own drinks.
