Room details lacking compared to rest of hotel

Great hotel history, location, and service. The room was a disappointment. It was outdated, one of the sinks didn’t work, and the HVAC system rattled all night. Parking is confusing.

Great hotel in Cincinnatti!

A lovely place to stay! Food was excellent and the staff was very courteous and helpful.

Hotel Stay

While the hotel and rooms themselves were spectacular, the corner of the hotel I stayed in was very, very noisy. I was in room 329 and could hear every single word of the conversation in room 327, plus all the noise from the street. I would stay there again in a heartbeat, but would make sure I was not in that part of the hotel or in a room with an adjoining room for that matter.

We enjoyed our stay at The Cincinnatian Hotel very much. The staff was very helpful when asked about dining options in the area. The room was spacious and extremely comfortable. We will definitely go back!

Cincinnati’s historic hotel

The Cincinnatian hotel is a historic hotel right in the middle of Cincinnati. A great hotel to see the city from as it is a five block walk to cross the Roebling bridge into Kentucky, a smaller version of the Brooklyn bridge. Both the football and baseball stadia are also within walking distance. I only wish the Bengals or Reds had a game scheduled for my stay. High end chain restaurants are also only blocks away. Ask for a room not on the internal courtyard/atrium of the hotel as noise from the bar was easily heard. The rooms were very nice and richly appointed . Also be aware that the thick carpet covers warped floorboards that make floors uneven. This was a minor annoyance that did not detract from the hotel for me but might be a problem for older or disabled people.

-room not on atrium for quieter night -be aware of uneven floors and pick up your feet -check game schedules if you are a sports fan for Reds and Bengals games.

the hotel was amazing. only thing was their was some repair work going on but besides that it was lovely. oh and unless you like your french toast made with raisen bread don’t order that for breakfast.

Hotel entrance was difficult to find based on the address. Many one-way streets and several loops and we finally found the main entrance.

Great Downtown Hotel

The room was beautiful and well kept. The service was great. When I had trouble connecting to the internet Jim from engineering came right away and got it going. Same thing for a balky DVD player--replaced right away. He left instructions on how to use it. The car valets and bellmen were great. Room service was very good. Turn down service with warm,fresh baked cookies. The room was quiet and anything we needed was just a call away.

Very, very few problems; keep going back

Stayed here for about the 50th time. Decor basically the same as a first stay in 1995, but service and comfort always exceptional. Mostly kept its charm despite having not been really renovated in many years. Ice machine was broken and plain, ugly tissue boxes scattered throughout our room (having 1, with a $2 cover, would have made a difference. Prix Fixe menu is a steal, even if not the complete experience; new chef has simplified things in a mostly good way. This is one of the finest hotel restaurants in the United States. Business Queens are very small but I prefer the coziness and updated interiors. Having 2 (old) shower heads makes up for lack of a tub. Courtyard view of those rooms is great; other, exterior views are not spectacular. Gym is small but sufficient (with free bottled water and towels); cardio equipment is outstanding. Looking forward to taking my son there at Christmas to see the great decorations. Location makes a late night snack (after 11:00 p.m.) from anywhere other than the mini-bar impractical.

Traveler's tip on nightlife

Cab service returning to the Cincinnatian can be slow and frustrating. But, you can walk to nearly anything you could imagine. Jean Ro Bistro around the corner is fantastic.

The staff was very helpful, being first time in the city they made it quiet comfortable and a great experience. I would gladly recommend this Hotel it was very comfortable and clean. The best service I’ve ever had.

Four star hotel???

I have never posted a review before but the The Cincinnatian Hotel was such a massive disappointment I have to! I was so excited to stay here, I love historic hotels. Check in should have been the tip off that this was not going to be a great stay. Check in is at 3pm but at 4pm our room was still not ready. I was sternly told that the hotel was full when I was handed the keys ...I guess because she knew what a wreck she just sent me to ...dirty carpet, HAIR in tub, broken handle on dresser, the info about the hotel had notes from a previous visitor scribbled out, the "luxurious" robes were dirty and the list goes on...from beginning to end it was a wreck. I informed the desk at check out and was told a manager would reach out to me but I never received a call.

The hotel is in a great location, so stay in the area just not at the Cincinnatian Hotel. The Cincinnati Zoo is great and the ballpark is dynamite! Montgomery Inn great place for ribs - right on river, staff excellent!

If you go to Cincinnati, this is the place to stay!!

Did not meet my expectations

The hotel is a little bit drab for the number of stars it has.There were some things we found annoying: they did not have change ready at the front desk (for tipping the valet) and they completely forgot about our room service order (and did not apologize for it when we called about it.) The gym was tiny and a lot of the equipment was out-dated. On the positive, most of the staff was friendly and the bar/restaurant was nice. We might try the Westin when we return to Cincinnati next year, though.

Super service over an extended number of stays

We have been a guest of this hotel for ~ 2 years and are very impressed with the level of service and quality of the facility. Not inexpensive but we feel we get value for the dollars. The food is terrific but pricy and those who like to catch something quick and dash out the door may be disappointed. The rooms are very very comfortable. They need to add movies on demand. The exercise facility is very small but has the requisite equipment. There was an accident with my rental car in the parking lot and they took care of everything with the rental company and the police. Very happy with all staff! The dining room gets very chilly so ask for a warm spot! They also accommodate vegans!

Traveler's tip on getting the most out of your stay

ask for an atrium room since there is a risk of street noise from a nearby restaurant/bar with sidewalk tables. The rooms with the balcony are great! Great jazz performers in the bar from time to time.

Great place to stay

Spent the night in town to catch a baseball game...wanted to get more tickets and stay another few nights.

Overall a good stay

We had a good experience. The only issue we had was our room was not ready for check in when we arrived. We had to wait 45minutes for our room. Other than that, our stay was great.

TAke your own drinks and snacks. There’s no vending machines. There is a mini bar in the room but its very overpriced and there is no where around the hotel to get snacks.

Nice place to stay!

Stayed at the Cincinnatian for a weekend and enjoyed it. Hotel was very close to the ball park and had easy access to Highways. Great Service, although the place needs some updating. The room was small but very nice!
