Large room, great staff

We had 4 people (2 parents, 2 kids) sharing a room, but it didn’t feel cramped. The beds were very comfortable, and the desk staff were very knowledgeable and friendly. Breakfast was good (not great). This is not the best location if you want restaurants and nightlife on the same block as your hotel. But if you will be out doing other things during the day and you want a nice comfortable place to stay at night, with good value for your money, this is a very good choice.

Traveler's tip on saving a few bucks

Instead of paying for valet parking, we parked on the street every evening. We never had any trouble finding a spot. (However, you do have to move your car by 9 a.m.)

Most relaxing visit

The hotel was great. Staff was very curtious and helpful with directions to local sites. Breakfast could have been better but still not bad at all. ( I prefer made to order) They really could use a lounge but i will definatley book another stay with them.

Was impressed.

Great Hotel! For the price, this is very well worth it. Rooms were very comfortable. Only bad thind breakfast was not good. They should stick to plain and simple, instead of frozen eggs (reheated) and rubber ham.

Fresh and Modern

I really enjoyed my stay and thought the value was great! The staff was very friendly and wanted to please. One elevator was kinda wonky, but other than that I have nothing but praise for the hotel and staff.

Excellent value!

I had a conference down by the convention center and decided to save money by booking at the Hampton, a 10-15 minute walk away. I expected the usual serviceable but not stylish hotel you get with Hamptons but I was truly surprised by how strikingly beautiful this place is. The business center had free internet access and the pool and fitness center were topnotch. And the staff were wonderful. This is a great hotel for business travelers who need the extras of a high end hotel but want to save a little money. The only drawback is the lack of a restaurant at the hotel but you can get food delivered and you can buy frozen dinners at the hotel and microwave them in your room.

Future frequent Hampton Inn guests

Easy walk to downtown and entertainment areas. The staff was very helpful with directions (transportation, places to go, etc.) and recommendations. Deluxe breakfast was excellent our first morning, but was more crowded the following day and therefore the selections weren’t as good. Would recommend this as a place to stay in Denver, CO.

Traveler's tip on getting the most out of your stay

In order to get from one side of town to the other, ask the staff about the RTD transportation system. It’s only a few blocks away and will only cost you a couple of bucks. The RTD (lightrail system) makes stops once every 15 minutes.

Nice Hotel, if you are not hungry

Hotel was fine, room was large and clean. No soap in the bathroom required a trip down to the front desk. Attempted to have breakfast in the morning but was disappointed to find the hot food gone. Checked back half an hour later and was still not restocked even though the breakfast area was bustling with guests asking about it. Ended up buying breakfast elsewhere.

Nothing beats a Hampton

We have always had great stays at Hampton hotels, and the Hampton in downtown Denver is no exception. The beds are comfortable, the breakfast offers a lot of choice, and the service is great. The only negatives are small: no free parking and the pool is way too hot. There is parking on the street (metered) and private parking lots right nearby, but the Hampton should do some kind of deal to reduce the fees. They offer valet parking in their lot, but it is pricey. As for the (indoor) pool, the temp was 87 degrees and the hot tub was 97 degrees. The air inside the room was stifling, so taking a dip wasn’t refreshing during the heat of July.

Very Nice Stay

Stayed 4 days with my parents and grand-children. Utilized the fitness center and pool, as well as breakfast area every day. Very comfortable, clean, very attentive staff. Could not ask for any better accomodations for the money. Close enough to 16th street mall and the fun way to get around on the frequent buses that go up and down the mall. I liked the location for its quietness. I will stay there again on the next Denver visit.

Clean, clean and clean

This has to be the cleanest hotel I have ever stayed in. The rooms were large and comfortable, and the wireless access worked fine in my room. They also provide a ’business suite’, which is a cluster of PCs on the second floor with free internet access, too. The complementary breakfast was superior to most paid-for breakfasts. This hotel will be my first choice for a return visit, even though it is a few minutes further to walk than most down-town hotels.

Good value near to Coors Field, 16th St Mall & Downtown

I was staying in town for one night to catch a Colorado Rockies game and visit with a friend. I did not want to pay the normally outrageous hotel prices for downtown Denver. The Hampton Inn is right on the Northeastern edge of downtown and not too far to be in the sketchy areas. The room was clean, comfortable for the price and the staff was quite courteous. They have a 24-hour market for drinks and snacks and, due to the mile high altitude, I found myself getting a few Gatorades late at night due to the dehydration. Stay here if you need a good place to sleep within reach of the cool places in Denver, but you don’t want to pay premium prices.

Traveler's tip on local attractions

The 16th Street Mall is about 5-6 blocks away and Coors Field is an easy/cheap cab ride or about a 20-minute walk away. The Pepsi Center and Invesco Field would be a cab ride from here for sure.

Confused by 2 1/2 star rating.

I booked this hotel as a St Paddy’s Day retreat from chaos, and therefore wasn’t too concerned about the 2 1/2 rating. I assumed that the hotel would be "okay", but nothing special. I was happily surprised that the opposite was true. The hotel is close to the 16th Street Mall, and is lovely. The staff is friendly and helpful and the room I stayed in was terrific! In fact, if I could have fit it in my bag, I might have attempted to steal the mattresses and bedding from my room. Also, the complimentary breakfast was delicious and had a wide variety to choose from! I say, this is a four star place to stay!

Hampton Inn Downtown Denver

Just a few blocks from the 16th Street Mall on Sherman St. and only a few blocks from the Colorado State Capitol Building is the Hampton Inn Denver Downtown. My crew had just come off of 4 days of videotaping on oil and gas rigs in NE Colorado in less than perfect conditions and very spartan accomodations in that area of Colorado. Not only was the Hampton Inn a delightful breath of fresh air, the rooms were ample, service excellent and the staff friendly and helpful.

Good downtown hotel in a quiet neighborhood

I had a great one night weekend stay at the Hampton Inn -Downtown Denver. It’s located in a quiet neighborhood that is an easy walk to the 16th street mall and about a 15 minute walk to the Art Museum/ Library area. The hotel was clean and the staff very friendly and they kept the complimentary breakfast area restocked. The one complaint that I had was the pillows were very hard which is relatively minor compared with my overall stay. Another good thing about the hotel location is that I visited Denver on the weekend and I was able to park my rental car on the street for free rather than paying the $20 valet at the hotel.

Traveler's tip on saving a few bucks

On the weekend, skip the hotel valet and park on the surrounding streets for free.

A great experience

We booked a king suite at this hotel because it was just a few blocks away from the Denver marathon start. What a great hotel! I was surprised by the multitude of amenities. I especially loved the pool and hot tub. The workout room is great. Also, the room itself was spotless and very comfortable. The front desk staff are friendly and helpful. The huge complimentary breakfast in the lobby was a nice touch. We will definitely be back!

good place to stay

About a 15 casual stroll to the convention center. Breakfast-to-go bags were nice bonus. Helpful staff and the beds and linen were great.
