Mediocre

The location of this hotel was great for what we had planned for the weekend. I would HIGHLY suggest not using their valet parking service. It took nearly one hour to get our car on the day of our check out. The housekeeping was not up to par as there were items left in the room from the previous guest.

Never again

This hotel has valet parking, but they want to keep your keys and you call them 15 minutes before you are ready to leave so they can go get your car, which is parked about 4 blocks from the hotel. We literally had to wait almost 30 minutes for them to bring the car. I was very uncomfortable with leaving my car keys with them, then they tell you on the back of the parking ticket, "they are not responsible for anything that happens to your car". The valet is $28/night, but they don’t tell you about the public parking lot that is across from the hotel. Never again, if we go back to New Orleans.

Great location

Very accomdating staff and great location. The pictures online are a bit different than the interior; they appear larger than this small, clean and comfortable hotel.

Traveler's tip on local attractions

Convenient location, it’s around the corner from the Aquarium and Harrah’s casino. Decatur Street has lot’s lf great dining and shopping. The staff at the Pelham are very accomodating.

Very nice low key spot off the strip.

Very nice low key spot off the strip. Friendly people that work there and I could not have asked for a better place to stay at the price.

Charming

The Pelham hotel is beautiful and in a great location. The ceilings and windows in our room were very high, the bed was comfortable, the staff was very nice. We had trouble with the room safe and the "engineer" never came after 3 days of requests. The restaraunt connected to the hotel serves a fabulous breakfast but, only on the weekends and it is not affiliated with the hotel. It’s an old hotel, very charming and quiet but only a short walk to the French Quarter.

Will not stay at that hotel again

The toilet was stopped up, the a/c would not move from 65, the room was very dirty. I had no soap and the tv remote had the batteries taken out and didn’t have a cover to keep them in.

There are reasons why this hotel had openings on Mardi Gras

The easiest way to do this is just make bullets: -Shower head was messed up -Toilet didn’t flush properly -Room was extremely cold, with an nonadjustable thermostat -When I dropped my glasses on the floor and searched for them, I saw beneath the bed, old take out chinese food, jolly ranchers, pop corn and other random foods And on a side note, the beds were really squeaky. It was an okay last resort, but I’d say, book another place in advance if you can.

Never Again

We got in our room at 3 in the morning and the toilet would not stop running. We lifted the lid to see what the problem was and water was filling up very quickly and begun spilling over. It proceeded to flood the bathroom with about an inch of water. We managed to rig it to where it would stop. When I called the front desk, they said there was nothing they could do at this time. We ended up having to pack up our things and move to another room at 3:30 in the morning after to being out all night in N.O. We also had ants in the food that we brought, lots of them! Not to mention they charge $28 for valet parking, then an extra $3 for parking tax. It was just an unpleasant visit. The location was good, that’s about it.

Not What We Expected!!!

I must say this hotel was not what we expected according to the virtual tour on line, we were expecting a large room with a 4 poster bed, sitting chairs and a nice floor length window. Instead we got an approx. 9x9 ft. room with a dirty bathroom, no alarm clock, dirty coffee cups, when you opened the door to enter the room you ran into the bed, literally. We could not open the closet without moving the chair that sat at the desk. The temperature stayed on 63 no matter what you did. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone and would say, don’t waste your money.

Will return

We only had two small inconveniences, first, it took a while for water to get hot, but once it did it stayed hot long enough for showers for both of us. Second, the ice machine was out of ice. We weren’t at the hotel much as we spent our time out sight-seeing and having fun, but we were pleased with our stay and will stay again when we return to the city.

Would stay there again

We had a room without a window which worked out for us because we wanted to sleep. The hotel was quiet and clean and a good place to sleep.

Charming Hotel!

We were pleasantly surprised with this hotel! The room was a little small, but the decor had a very old English feel to it. The beds were very comfortable, the windows were huge, and our room actually had real leather bound books in it! The front desk was very helpful and friendly. What I enjoyed most was definitly the ambiance of the hotel. The only thing I didnt like was that there was no resturant in the hotel and the hotel is situated in an alley, so the view outside wasnt that great. But overall the location was good (walking distance to everything)and I was very comfortable there. This place is a diamond in the rough!

Great Stay at the Pelham Hotel New Orleans!

I would recommend to anyone the Pelham Hotel New Orleans! It is one of the oldest hotels in New Orleans, and the furnishings and decor represent an elegance of the past that will not be found in just any hotel.

Traveler's tip on local attractions

Five minute walk to either Bourbon Street or the O’Hara Casino. Also a short walk from Hard Rock, and many museums and aquariums.

Great location

Undisputed location a few meters from all the fuzz without the noice. Cleanliness of the room was a problem: we had to call for the maid to clean it again as bags, bottles and trash from previous guests were under the bed and back of the night table. Balance between price and delivery: very good as it is very low priced!

Traveler's tip on getting the most out of your stay

Beware of extra charges: safe deposit, internet are in your balance even if you do not use them. Also avoid hotel valet parking. A few steps away in the same block there is a public parking that is half priced.

Gorgeous Hotel

I loved the victorian style of hotel room. It was fabulous. Two of the Front Desk Clerks were exceptional...I just forget the names. They were so helpful and wonderful to talk to. Thanks for a great time.

Disappointment

Located in a run down neighborhood. Interior of hotel was poorly maintained and had a bad odor. Did not have soap or shampoo in room and I had to request it from front desk. Valet parking parking is needed if you have a rental which is $28 a day and valet service is slow and unresponsive. Charges additional fees for safe, internet and phone even if none is used. I have stayed in New Orleans several times before and could have stayed at a much better hotel for less than it ultimately cost. Don’t waste you time with this hotel.

Might recommend...

The girl at the front desk was extremely rude during check in and was always on her cell phone. Unfortunately, she seemed to always be there. The room was nice, though.

Traveler's tip on nightlife

Its a good location if you plan on walking to the attractions.

Smelled of smoke and maid was lazy

The front desk associate Darlene was very helpful and pleasant. The overall condition of the hotel was good. Our room was supposed to be non-smoking but it did smell like cigarette smoke and I found ashes on the night stand. We also managed to get 1 of about 6 inside rooms in the entire hotel; so no window. About 5 minutes after being in the room I got use to the smell of cigarettes so it didn’t bother me. The maid did not change the sheets everyday. I purposely marked them to see if she did. Same thing for the towels; she actually folded up a dirty one and put it back on the towel shelf. Also forgot to leave soap on more than one occasion. Good location though. Easy access to the French Quarter and Warehouse District.

New Orleans is not a place for families

The hotel does not look the same in person as it does in the pictures. Our sheets were not clean, we know this because there was pee on them. The people were very fast at coming and changing our sheets and were very friendly. Maybe I was just extremely nieve about what to expect but their were prostitues just a couple of blocks from our hotel and I was almost ran into twice by drunk men on the way to the restaraunt just a couple of blocks away. All of this was in the middle of the day on a Tuesday! I had a HORRIBLE experience.
