Warm Cookies!!

I was most impressed with getting free warm cookies at check in, but I also likes other aspects of the hotel. Great location - right next to Harrah’s and walking distance to Bourbon. I also liked that the trash cans in the room were divided into two sections. One for trash and another for recycle. I will definitely stay here again.

Nice but not THAT nice

The doubletree is very convenient to the convention center, Riverwalk, and Bourbon Street which is it’s best quality. The primary issue I had was that even being on the 12th floor you could hear the people on the street talking and vehicle noise just as if you were on the ground floor next to them. The other issue was you can hear everything going on in the rooms next you.

Good location, comfortable and clean

The bathroom was a little tight, but clean and functional. The bedding and mattress was very comfortable. Rooms were quiet.

Traveler's tip on dining

Try Bayonas for the best food around. I walked there from the hotel.

My room did need some cosmetic repairs. The closet had mold forming in it and the bathroom needed alittle plaster repair.

Could Have Been Better

While this hotel is completely adequate, unfortunately it is not much more than that. Out of 4 card keys, only 1 worked. The room had a coffee maker, but no coffee cups. The fire alarm malfunctioned at 5:30 in the morning. In other words, a lot of minor annoyances. But it was relatively cheap and the location is good.

Best service of any hotel

This hotel had the best service of any hotel I have ever stayed. The Bell Captain, Ralph, was extremely helpful. Restaurant also had a very good breakfast buffet and great service.

Exactly what we were looking for.

Perfect location, close enough for walking through the French Quarter, but we didn’t have to deal with the narrow streets and the parking in the Quarter.

Traveler's tip on dining

The food in the hotel restaurant is good; but, eat out. Great food is easy to find, at a better value.

Not impressed; will never go back

The walls are so thin it really sounds like your neighbors are in the room with you, even though they aren’t being loud. I could hear every conversation they had even though they were speaking in normal voices. Both times the maintenance man came to fix the neighbor’s clogged sink (once at 6 am and once at midnight!!), it sounded like he was in the room with me. My room had no shower curtain. It took me 3 calls and 2 days to get one.

Good location - needs better bar

We were surprised to find out there was a $32 per night parking at this hotel. We booked from Expedia and there was no mention of this on your website. We asked for a King Room (anniversary) and they gave us a queen. It was adequate but not what we wanted.

Traveler's tip on dining

Do not eat at Tommy’s Bistro. Terrible service - extremely over priced for the meal. Food was only so-so..... Do eat at Drago’s in the Hilton and Red Fish Grill is always good. Of course you can always count on the raw oysters at Acme Oyster House.

Loved the Doubletree

This was our first trip to NOLA and we found this hotel to be a fantastic location. It was within walking distance of all the places we wanted to visit and we were so glad that we did not stay on Bourbon St. with all the noise. The room was a tiny bit small but very nicely appointed. The bathroom was small, but certainly quite adequate. Not as bad as some of the other reviews indicated. It was clean, comfortable, housekeeping was good, elevators were fast, never had to wait more than a minute for one and the cookies are delicious! We definitely would stay there again and recommend it to others. The only complaint is that we had booked it for a king bed and were given a queen. It was 11 PM when we arrived and did not want to bother making a change at that point and it was fine.

Great hotel for rice and location

Got a great deal on Expedia. The hotel was very clean. Had the very comfortable Hilton beds. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. The hotel was a five minute walk to the French Quarter. Right down the street from Mother’s Restaurant. Would definitely stay here again. No complaints.

Traveler's tip on dining

Mr. B’s Bistro (a Brenann’s restaurant) in French Quarter on Royal Street was very good and reasonbly priced. Don’t miss the pecan pie for desert. One of the best I’ve ever had.

Great Hotel but too NOISE

I do have a great experience with the hotel but it’s too noise. I can hear the guess from the other rooms. I take a nap one day and it was hard because I heard all the voices around including the room next to me. Hopefully, I was in the 10th floor so I don’t heard any car or bus.

Traveler's tip on dining

It was good.

Expected for the Deal and Price

Overall the stay was uneventful. Stayed in regular room that was rather small. Definately could not accommodate more than 2 people. The hotel staff were very friendly and helpful navigating the city. The free WiFi and free gym use was a definate plus. Great location for teh casino and within walking distance to French Quarter and Bourbon Street.

extraordinary service in extraordinary times

The staff stayed even as the hurricane was approaching and honored our reservations. They were very friendly and helpful. The rooms were immaculate. The casino was closed, but it is right across the street. Prices are good as well. Could not ask for more.

cant stay anywhere else

The bellmen started our stay with a bang. They held our luggage while we regrouped, unloaded our luggage, and went to get the ice for our champagne. They were helpful the entire stay. The hotel was just steps away from everything. We had smiles the whole weekend.

Traveler's tip on local attractions

Don"t miss the street at the other end of Harrah’s casino.

Very wide ranging service of this hotel!!!!

The beds and pillows were killer on our necks and backs. We could barely drive home the day we left. The hotel was clean and very nice otherwise. The bathrooms are so small, you could barely open and close the door. Hotel charged $30 for my wife and $35 for overnight parking. Basically doubled the price with hidden costs! Watch out!

Traveler's tip on local attractions

Hotel is walking distance to Bourbon street, riverwalk, shopping, and across the street from Harrah’s casino. You won’t need a cab if you don’t plan on touring other areas of NO.

Great bang for the buck. Nothing wrong with the Doubletree

Great location. Went for a conference at the convention center. Good service and comfortable room. The wallpaper was falling off but a sign in the lobby said they’re doing a remodel for stuff like that.
