Very saisfied with service, location, very quiet. Clean, nice restaurant

Nice spot

Just a short distance from Syracuse University (about 15 minutes). Quiet, ruralish area, though shopping mall right across the street. Very clean, pretty reception area, friendly staff, bed was extremely comfortable and the room was very nice. Not sound proof walls but fairly quiet. Went to hotel restaurant. Was alright, thought the quality of the meal did not equal the price. Waiter was spacey, seemed to forget he was waiting tables and the we had called ahead for reservation and the table was right in the kitchen traffic pathway and just about in the lobby. Probably would not eat there again, but looked like plenty of other places to choose from in the area.

Good Non-chain Motel

Service is generally great. Standard rooms a little small. Check in could have been more carefully done. Overall they do very well and I will stay again.

Very Nice Stay in Syracuse

Our first time staying in this lovely hotel. We stayed in a King Suite and it was perfect. The furnishings were all Stickly furniture. The bed had a pillow top mattress and a down comforter. There was a bar/makeup sink area which was a very nice additional touch. The location was great and the restaurant was wonderful.

Nice place, good resturant, poor housekeeping

My only issue with this hotel was the lack of thoroughness and attention paid by housekeeping. The facility is very nice, but you can see that the hard times has affected the quality of care. We had several issues with the cleanliness of the room and sloppy housekeeping, which was reported to the desk clerk. Unfortunately, things didn’t improve. Since we were in a suite, we expected at least adequate housekeeping.

This is a nicely situated facility, and not really too far from downtown Syracuse. A nice place to stay for several days.

Great low-key vacation

Selection of the hotel was a last minute, almost stick-a-pin-in-a-map time, but we got a good deal through Expedia and drove to Syracuse without many expectations. Our room wasn’t ready when we got there, but the desk clerk kept us updated and we got a chance to enjoy the choice of fresh fruit or freshly baked cookies --next time we’ll try the fruit. We’d booked a jacuzzi suite with a king size bed. There was a nice living area and large bathroom as well as the sleeping area with a second television and rocking chair. The room was large, clean and comfortable. Next time, though, we’ll ask for a door a little farther from the entry door and staircase.

If you’re in Syracuse on a Tuesday, save a few hour to visit the Stickley furniture factory -- the company is a majority owner of the motel and provides the furniture. The tour was free, but it well may end up being the most expensive part of our vacation, when we start redecorating our house. High quality woodwork and craftsmanship have not gone extinct -- a real must-see for any woodwork enthusiast.

Great place to stay.

I’ve stayed at the Craftsman twice now and have no complaints. I’ve always left feeling well rested and satified. The staff has always been nice and super helpful. I was pleasantly suprised to see comforters on the bed instead of the usual flimsy itchy blankets most hotels have. Shopping is conviently across the street...although I wouldn’t recommend crossing the street without thoroughly looking both ways and once it’s clear you should put a bit of a hop to your step. The Limestone restaurant next door is a nice breakfasting spot. The only possible complaint I might have is that they were lacking a fitness room which I sorely needed after all of the eating I did during my stay in Syracuse. Otherwise, I would recommend the Craftsman to anyone.
