Safe and convenient to what I needed

This hotel had adequate security for an otherwise rather unsafe neighborhood. Good places to eat were within 2 blocks. If you need to be in this neighborhood, this hotel is adequate but not an exciting experience.

Great location and very friendly staff. worth the price.

the hotel is in a great location close to downtown and to restaurants and the shopping district. also close to a running trail that goes through downtown. they offer complimentary breakfast and snacks but i didnt use them but heard they were good. the parking was free and close to the entrance. the staff was very nice and courteous. a lot of young folks that did whatever to make you happy. will return there if i had to.

Excellent Place to Stay

As a NYC teacher on summer break, I was visiting Denver for the first time. First of all, I must say that Denver is one of the friendliest cities I’ve ever been to. I was treated warmly everywhere (the airport, tour buses, stores, etc.) Upon my arrival at the Towne-Place Suites, I was greeted by the General Manager ("Erin"). Before my arrival, she had put together a packet of brochures with maps, tourist attractions, and helpful information. When I approached the front desk she was smiling, friendly, and kind. I asked her a million questions (grocery store? buses?) and she patiently answered each one. I was very impressed by my room. It looked like a studio apartment, with a full kitchen, a small living room, and a computer worktable. The hallways were quiet and there was a laundry-mat and a computer room with internet access on the first floor. Although downtown was "walking distance" (about a mile), I suggest you take the bus up Lincoln Street. It will get you there in about 15 minutes. I also recommend the Molly Brown House, the Gray Line City and Mountain Tours, and Sixteenth Street Mall. This street has a large Walgreen’s store with inexpensive souveniers, t-shirts, and snacks. I had an excellent stay in Denver and highly recommened the Towne-Suites hotel. Make sure you ask for Erin, the manager. She will make you feel at home.

Traveler's tip on local attractions

Don’t miss the Molly Brown House, the Grayline Tours (City and Mountains).

Great hotel, Had everything my kids and myself needed.

Very clean and cozy. Only two draw backs, the hotel was not easy to find due to all the one way streets downtown, and the sofa bed wasnt so soft.

Good bang for the buck

We enjoyed this hotel very much. he price was great and everyone was polite and courteous. ne tiny drawback wa the breakfast area. It was very small with only seating for about 5 people. Not enough for an entire hotel. The location was good for access to the downtown events as well as the suburb of Cherry Creek. We walk allot and the walking trail was right at the doorstep to the hotel. e had a great stay here.

Would totally stay again

Totally satisfied with my stay here. THe right price taboot! Bigger rooms then most other places..included a kitchen. Staff was friendly and helpful and breakfast was good in the morning. Also includes free parking (tough to come by in Denver so close to downtown area), although the parking spots were a bit small. Even has a free computer that guest can use, but boy was that room hot!! Had a great stay and would stay here again!

Clean and comfortable

I had no issues with the hotel- the staff was friendly and helpful, the hotel was clean and comfortable. If I had any issue at all it would be that the location is a little far to walk to anything. If you have a car it’s no issue at all. The beds and pillows were very comfortable. Workout facility was nice- weights, a bench, and a couple of cardio machines.

Good location, friendly staff

Towneplace Suites Downtown is convenient to Denver’s downtown attractions (about six blocks walking to the Denver Art Museum.) There are several restaurants within a four block radius, and there’s free parking (which is something in a downtown location.) My room was comfortable, small, but fine for me. There’s a pretty standard continental breakfast every morning, a workout room with four cardio machines and some free weights, and there’s also an internet room with a printer. The staff always seemed friendly, and occasionally they’d do something special, like put free cookies in the rooms, or on July 4th they had free burgers and hotdogs on a grill out front. I would certainly stay there again.

Took a chance - couldn’t have been more pleased

We choose this all-suite hotel due to close location to family members we were visiting. (Note to business travelers: it was actually on the edge of the downtown area, but there are many stores & over a dozen restarants within a block or 2 of easy walking distance - this served us much better.) Hotel is directly off Speers Blvd - easy to nagigate to local attractions. Art Deco historic building was super clean & looked newly refurbished. Suite was spacious - fully equipped kitchen, large bath, upgraded linens & decor, plus couch, chair & desk area. Our family congregated here, instead of at home of those we visited! There is an coin laundry & a 24 hour "mini mart" area at front desk for snacks & forgotten items. Their "grab & go" breakfast (individual juices, yogurt, cereal, fruit, etc) was more convenient than the continental fare served at other hotels. The eating area only seats a few people, but, HEY, you’ve got a suite upstairs! No, they have no pool (I don’t think many downtown hotels do), but the other amenities more than compensated. The staff were the best I’ve ever encountered anywhere & went above & beyond to make us comfy. (Fresh baked cookies every afternoon!) Housekeeping & Desk staff were eager to please & really took pride in their service. The fire alarm went off one morning at 6 AM (smoking toast) & as an apology, all guests recieved a voucher for a future free night’s stay! I would stay here again in a heartbeat.

Traveler's tip on saving a few bucks

This was the 1st time we booked on the internet - our flight + hotel pkg was only a few dollars more than the flight itself. I’m sold!

Excellent cost-benefit results.

I was in the hotel for 10 days, between March 22nd and April 3rd. The hotel is almost new, or in a "like new" condition. Excellent cleaning, excellent staff, well located in the edge of downtown, with free parking lot, business center, etc. Wi-fi works just fine, and you have high speed wired access too. It has a full kitchen, oven, microwave, dishwasher, coffee maker, toaster, all present. Also it has kitchenware for four persons, comfortable rooms, etc. Mine was a double, and I had a desk, with lamp, extra table and electrical and internet outlets. It also has a little living room, with two sofas, a small table, and a big closet with room for at least 4 or 5 bags. It is a 3 star hotel, in excellent conditions, breakfast included. The breakfast is "to go" just because there is little space for the guests to sit there, but some people like to stay there, have breakfast, a little chat and watch the early news. They offer cookies every evening, and coffee, tea, etc. all day long. Very pleased, unexpensive, well attended, comfortable and efficient. You might need a car if you are going to walk from downtown passed 8 pm, because it could be pretty cold, empty and maybe scary for some folks.

Traveler's tip on shopping

Don’t bother shopping in downtown. If you have a car, or can use public transport, go to Castle Rock outlets, they have incredible prices, way below downtown stores, or the main malls, like Cherry Creek, Colorado Mills, or Flatirons Crossing. In the weekends, go for some bargain hunting at the flea market of Milehigh Marketplace.

great for anyone who doesn’t need to stay in the middle of downtown

I stayed at this hotel while in Denver for a conference. It’s about a mile from central downtown, but it’s a convenient drive, it’s on a bus route, and it’s a nice walk, as well (along Cherry Creek, which runs in the middle of Speer Blvd). Having a kitchen was very convenient, and the staff was very helpful and friendly.

A hidden secret

This hotel is definitely a hidden secret! It is within walking distance to the Denver Convention Center, the 16th Street Mall, and various restaurants. If you are want to take a cab, it’s only $7 from the convention center. In addition, the kitchenette in the room is fully stock with cookware ready to use. The only thing that I wish I knew ahead of time is that there is no silverware in the kitchenette. Otherwise, I recommend this hotel.

BEST VALUE In Downtown Denver

IT is a SUITE with stove, fridge, dishwasher, pots pans dishes etc!!! Not that we ate in but we could have. We did relax on the couch and chairs watching the TV talking with mom. We spent a week at the TownePlace Suites By Marriott Denver Downtown. What a great value in a great location. This hotel is a few minute from LODO, 16th Street Mall, the capitol, art museum restaurants. Just an amazing price a beautifully renovated building wonderful warm friendly (almost Southern hostpitality friendly) staff. I’ve been around the world stayed in the greatest of hotels in the largest capitals, my partner was a career flight attendant we know AMAZING hotels and this one was definitely it!!

Traveler's tip on getting the most out of your stay

Stay here you won’t regret it. So close to attractions, interstates, food everything and it is a BARGAIN!!!

Great central location at a great price!

Stayed in Denver for 3 nights to search for places to live, This hotle was centrally located to all neighborhoods. I am usually a hotel snob and this property had a very clean room and bathroom. I was pleasantly surprised. I would recommend this hotel to anyone. Great value and the staff was very helpful!

Best Kept Secret in Denver!

Hey, this was overall 10 times better than staying at the host hotel, not to mention better on my budget! I wish I could have stayed longer to use and enjoy the kitchen more. The front desk staff was very friendly and helpful when I needed directions or a cab. The only negative I have is the wireless didn’t work very well from my room which was somewhat annoying. A suggestion would be to see if the hotel could partner with the local Segway dealers/rentals to provide "green" transportation alternatives for those not renting a car. I could have used a Segway to get back and forth from the host hotel and save a little of cab fare. Thanks for a GREAT experience in the Mile High City!!!

Loved this hotel!

We were extremely pleased with TownPlace Suites in downtown Denver. The historic building has been totally renovated and the decor is lovely: warm yellow paint, 9 panel wood doors, period lighting fixtures, and historic black and white photos of Denver on the walls. There is free wi-fi and a large work desk in the room. The full kitchen is very handy, esp. when traveling with a family. They serve a satisfactory continental breakfast in a homey nook at the front of the lobby, which has an island and stools, similar to what might be in one’s kitchen at home. And the hotel is pet friendly. Not only were there guests that had pets with them, but staff members brought there pets. We will stay here again this summer when we come back to Denver to move our son, who will be attending college at Metropolitan State College of Denver (this hotel is very close to Metro State / Univ. of Colorado Denver / Comm College of Denver).

Traveler's tip on getting the most out of your stay

This hotel has free parking, which is a huge asset in a metro area. Also, right on a bike / pedestrian trail along the river, and very close to bus line.

High quality for very reasonable price

I booked a package for my trip at a great rate for this hotel, therefore I was not expecting a lot. The studios are BIG, and well maintained, the room was quiet, fully stocked with dishes, pots and pans, etc. It had a full kitchen, and a big closet, and a well-lit, large desk. This place is great for people that travel on business; complimentary high speed internet (wireless and cable), no DVD player or VCR. I did not any kids, which, as a business traveler, is always a plus; no noise, crying or kids running around!

Traveler's tip for business travelers

This place is only 1.5 miles from downtown at a fraction of the cost of a downtown hotel.

Amazing.

We were treated as first class after only paying the amount for one night for all four nights together. All of staff was friendly. Only con I have was that it was complicated to find because of its street address, even though it is 685 speer blvd. its more located in the 200’s on speer blvd.

Traveler's tip on getting the most out of your stay

Bring a compass so you can know exactly what direction you are going in. Denver roads are confusing.

A-Okay but....

The hotel is okay for the price: clean, comfortable, utensils and plates in-room, dish washer, microwave, sofa, desk, complimentary water bottle and coffe in the room, hot breakfast, wireless internet; a mile from Downtown Denver except that on my last full day, there was a scheduled water shutoff from 11 am to 3 pm but lasted thru around 9 pm. Hotel staff mentioned there was some leak that maintenance was trying to trace on the 4th floor.

Traveler's tip for business travelers

Very near Colorado Convention Center in Downtown Denver but having a rental is still suggested to easily move around the area.

Most historically interesting hotel! No complaints.

This hotel is in what used to be a printing press building built in the 1920s; the exterior is a gorgeously intersting art deco design. Walking through the halls and knowing that not too long ago this was a printing factory... Every entry/exit to the hotel was fascinating. In terms of accomodations, no complaints. My room had a kitchenette and they provided all the basic kitchen supplies, so one doesn’t have to eat out if staying here. Everything was clean, extra blankets were available. There’s a continental style breakfast in the a.m.--eggs, toast, etc. My only criticism: There is no computer station for guest use--most hotels have a "business center." The hotel is also right next to the canal strip, so if you’re a jogger or cyclist, this hotel provides convenient access to the canal. Added bonus: hotel neighbors a hospital and ER. This is the place to stay if you have critical health issues.

Traveler's tip on dining

The hotel isn’t close (within 1.5 miles = close) to any full fledged grocery stores, so if you’re going to be fully using the kitchenette, be prepared to drive or walk a few miles. Also: looking for beer? Look in the liquor stores; convenience and grocery stores don’t have a huge variety of even local beer.
