“Lovely location and tranquil setting. However our stay did not include breakfast and at £13 each we gave it a miss. Plenty of parking outside, although there were very few staff around, we had to call the hotel to get someone at reception.”

My only issues were that to access my room i had to use an outdoor fire escape and walk across roof - this was safe and easy to do but not ideal with luggage, nor was it welcoming. “The Guinness Arms had character rooms and the hallway was just as nice. Our room had aircon and also a skylight which had retractable blinds if you wanted to look at the sky or not. Room was clean and cosy with coffee and tea facilities. A bottle of water was also supplied with a selection of biscuits. Iron and board in cupboard for those who want to sort the creases out. Hotel was quiet and calm just the way we like it, we stayed in the week so not sure what it would be like at the……

“Relaxed dining in the bar, plus option to eat in the more formal dining room. Good outside table area. Great relaxing lounge with comfortable chairs and attentive staff. This an older character building with some very interesting features, but is reasonably well maintained. Have now stayed here four times and will definitely be returning.”
