“This was our fourth stay at the Crescent, our first under Champneys’ ownership. As locals we are invested in the building, having followed its restoration over the years, not least with considerable financial help from the county and borough councils. We booked our stay some weeks ago through Expedia - I selected a room we had used before and paid full price. I didn’t delve for the ‘important information’ which is further down the screen. Therefore, we were astonished on arrival to find we……

“Stayed 2 nights enjoyed evening meals and breakfasts - chosen as a base for visiting Wakefield Barbara Hepworth gallery and Yorkshire Sculpture Park easily accessed and comfortable base. ”

“Was disappointed as I booked with Expedia, expecting to be able to use the facilities at the hotel. On checking in, I enquired about the facilities and was informed that if I had booked directly with the hotel, I would have been able to use the pool and gym and get breakfast included. To use the gym and pool, I would have to pay extra.”

“Staff were excellent. Food very good. Appreciated group of 10 having separate area for meals. Not keen on the bath in the bedroom, nowhere reachable to put soap or shampoo. No washbasin in the toilet. Would be better to make shower room with toilet. Bath not easy to get in and out.”
