“Fantastic location. Ideal for what we needed but also really rural-feeling and peaceful. We found it quiet and charming. We enjoyed wandering in amongst the old orchard and down through the copse, across the scrubland that forms part of the floodplain of the Tyne. It was good to know there are badgers around although we weren’t lucky enough to see anyway. The dawn chorus was impressive. Very pleasant indeed. Definitely will book again if we’re back in the area. ”

“Lovely cottage ideal for 2 people. Everything you could want. Excellent location with plenty of opportunities for walking and exploring the local area. Plenty of leaflets and books provided to help you with this. Just a little tip: if you are staying in the colder weather you might like to gen up on your fire lighting technique. There is a lovely log fire and plenty of logs. The owner could not be more friendly and helpful.”

“We had a lovely stay in this apartment, very clean and well equipped. We will definitely be back. It’s very well placed for visiting Hadrians Wall. We travelled by train and found the bus service more than adequate for our needs. The bus stop is outside the apartment. Also there is a range of shops and eateries. On Wednesday in the market square there was a pop up rice van selling take away food.”

“If you need somewhere to stay in a tranquil setting then look no further than the left luggage office. It is a little gem. It has everything you need for a really comfortable stay and more. We have stayed at many excellent rentals but can honestly say that this was the best. “This was, by far the worst place we have ever rented and we have rented a lot of places. It was filthy. There were mouse droppings in the kitchen cupboards and in the one small pot and one small pan we were to used for cooking (believe me there was no cooking done in them!) there was a dirty pizza encrusted pan in the oven. Dust and cobwebs hung everywhere. The yard was totally unkempt and nothing like the photos. Sad too, because underneath the neglect, were the bones of a beautiful garden.……
