“Great base, quiet, homely, close to shops and amazing view. The property was just the riht size for the three of us. Easy parking for small to moderate car.”

“Really lovely cottage in the middle of Ambleside. Parking is off-site about 5 minutes away from the property up a very steep hill which wasn’t made explicitly clear so bare that in mind. There is nowhere to quickly park your car to unload bags or collect the resident’s parking permit so you have to pay for parking first. The showers were nice but honestly quite dirty with lots of black marks (possibly mould) on the shower head and the silicone which put us off using one of them. Besides that……

“Hi, hope this helps, we found the cottage’s location is great having never been in a town one before. Great to have all the amenities to hand, we thought it had everything that one needs, just a little tired looking. Our main criticism was the lack of outdoor space for the dog, and as one of the cottage’s plus says it’s pet friendly, it is NOT. We would have considered the cottage again but only if we don’t have a dog, the likelihood of that happening is pretty slim.”

“The house is an exceptional unit for our multi-generational family. We had 2 seniors, 3 children aged 6,4,1 and 3 other adults, and the 4 bedrooms were more than sufficient to accommodate us. The house was newly renovated so everything felt brand new and clean. The host Richard was very kind to explain everything via email, as well as a clear black folder with every feature in the house. Richard thought through everything that a large family needed - parking permits, baby cot, washer and……

“Beautiful location with everything you need to hand. The house was clean and conveniantly located. There was issues with the hot water being very hit and miss so had several unhappy members having to take cold showers if somone got there first. There was also a bat living in the wall of the main bedroom thet kept waking me up flying round the room in the middle of the night which started as a plus because the kids was amazed but ended with me being rather tired by the time it got to check out.”

“The check in information did not arrive in time and it took 15 min to call and sort things out. Otherwise, there is no complaint on the property. Street parking with permit, it sometimes needs luck to find a nearby parking space.”
