The hotel itself was ok, though definitely overpriced for the quality and size of the rooms. The air conditioning barely functioned and was nowhere near sufficient for a warm night. Also, staff were quite pushy when checking in, trying to push extras and room upgrades, felt more like a sales pitch.
However, that was not our main issue. We booked this hotel on a refundable rate, so as to mitigate any potential issues with Corona. We booked 4 nights and made the silly mistake of choosing to pay upfront for our booking (more on that later). However on our first night, the UK government's decision to quarantine arrivals from Netherlands meant that we had to cut our trip short and leave after 1 night. After speaking with staff, they seemed quite accomodating, and states that because we had paid up front they were unable to directly refund us for the remaining nights, however, if we requested this refund through hotels.com, then they would happily approve it. However this was clearly just a ploy to appease us and get us out of the hotel. After speaking to hotels.com, they contacted the hotel who at this point flat out refused and refund for the remaining 3 nights, as we had paid up front, this meant it was non refundable (despite clearly showing them that it was refundable on my booking). As a result we are out of pocket by 3 nights which we did not spend at the hotel, and which no doubt they will have re-sold our rooms again if they had the chance.
Don't trust this hotel.
