Beautiful high quality finishes - from 2 to 4 beds Just 100 meters from the Piazza del Comune of Assisi is the entrance to this delightful apartment. Through 6 comfortable steps you enter the ground floor open space with living room. The living room consists of a comfortable sofa bed, 2 armchairs and a dining table. At the back of the room is the modern kitchen with induction fires, equipped with a dishwasher. Through a wooden and wrought iron staircase leads to the characteristic loft where there is a bedroom with double bed, wooden floor and TV, bathroom with crystal shower. The minimal chic style fits perfectly with the traditional architecture of the area. The recently and carefully restored apartment, through a meticulous restoration work, enhances its distinctive features such as stone walls, large wooden beams and the iron / wood staircase. It was centrally located, not far from the local bus stop, and steps away from the central piazza (Temple of Minerva). The home had a loft bedroom, a washer, drying rack and fully equipped kitchen. We enjoyed our stay in Laura's apartment very much. Pros: location, modern kitchen, quiet at night, good water pressure in the shower, lovely hostess, Laura (She even moved our laundry from the washer to the dryer and then delivered it! The washer is in her bed and breakfast unit next door.) Cons: Laura wasn't available to meet us so we had no one to give us tips about Assisi, very small bathroom, ok bed but not great, squeaky door and floor upstairs, loud water rushing sounds, parking (We unloaded in the nearby square but were afraid to leave the car there unattended, so my daughter and I had to bring everything up the street/steps while my husband waited with the car 3-5 minutes walk from the apartment. Then we moved the car to near the fort where we could park for free about 15 minutes walk uphill from the apartment.) By local standards, the loft is large. The main bedroom and extremely small bathroom/shower is located up a narrow, steep staircase, so be sure you are comfortable negotiating steps. But of course, that is required for accessing everything In Assisi! The downstairs pull out couch worked well for one teenager, and could accommodate two small children. While we didn't cook in the apartment, we boiled water for coffee and used the refrigerator for keeping drinks cool – which worked well for us. Also, the unit's Wi-Fi worked well. My restaurant recommendation is the restaurant in the La Roca hotel, at the top of the town. We ate both indoors, and outdoors, and outside enjoyed the stunning vista on their patio in the evening at sunset. We had delicious, and extremely affordable, meals. We were looking for something away from tourists but close enough to things to do. This location was everything we hoped it would be. The apartment was very large and clean. The interior is simple but had everything we needed. If you like to cook on your own, the kitchen is fully stocked with supplies and there is a local market right around the corner. I do suggest that if you would like to have fresh towels at some point during your stay, that you make it known when you check in. It isn't automatic. A couple of other notes - Assisi is very hilly so take that into account when you bring your luggage. If you drive, use the parking that Laura suggests. It's free but you will need to be able to navigate the narrow walled streets to get out of town. We loved learning to drive there but it's certainly worth knowing before you go. I can only give this location very high marks. Mrs. Casadio is a gracious, caring person who met us at the train station to drive us to the Loft Apartment. She lives next door so it is easy to make a small request. Being a bit fluent in Italian will be helpful or get the Italian Google translator and you should do fine. Walking into the space is a wow moment. It is so airy, off-white with old stone for the walls. The upstairs bedroom is spacious with hanging space and two chest of drawers. Plenty of space to unpack. The bed is comfortable. The dark curtains upstairs allow you to sleep in since it does provide sufficient darkness in the morning. However, you can certainly pull the curtains back if you like to wake by natural sunlight. We made a lot of use in the kitchen as we dined in 6 of the 7 nights while we were there. The appliances and kitchen equipment were good. There is a microwave, no regular oven. You do need to be in ressonably good health in getting around Assisi since it is hilly. So i would not advise your visit to the town if you are wheelchair or walker dependent. Overall, it was a fabulous stay with great accommodations, location, gracious hostess. What more could you ask for? Yes, we would return. ##### Lawrence H. ### 10/10 超赞 #### Tim P. 2016 年 12 月 1 日 #### Meraviglioso! A wonderful apartment in beautiful Assisi! My wife and I stayed in the loft, and it was perfect for us. Comfortable and spacious living room with kitchen and tv downstairs, and large bedroom upstairs, along with the bathroom. Our hostess, Laura, was very friendly and accessible. She provided clear directions for temporary parking for unloading and then long term free parking, and greeted us upon arrival (even though we were late arriving). Laura also gave us a good map and recommendations, as well as access to the laundry facilities in the separate unit next door. Our apartment was in a fantastic location, just a quick walk from the main Piazza del Comune with shops and bars (including Bar Trovellesi, which was our first and last stop each day, and Bottega dei Sapori, which has everything you need to stock the apartment), but tucked away on a residential street away from the crowds and noise.
