“We found the Belmont House Hotel easily, and the staff were very welcoming when we arrived. The hotel itself is lovely, with tasteful décor, and our room was comfortable. Unfortunately, our stay was quite affected by the noise that evening. The bar was closed for a private event, and there was loud music and quite a bit of rowdiness both outside and around the main lobby area. As a result, it was very difficult to get a good night’s sleep. When planning our trip, I had specifically avoided……

“Had a lovely room overlooking the sea. Rooms were warm and quirky and bed very comfortable. The staff were all very friendly which means a lot. And the food was amazing. Would definitely go back.”

“Lovely big family room which was clean and had plenty of amenities. Our beds were comfortable and we all slept really well. The host, John was very friendly and helpful. We had the cooked breakfast the next morning, which was cooked to order and great value for money. We would definitely consider a return visit in the future. The only small thing that would have made it better is if there had been a shower instead of/in addition to a bath (which had a hand-held shower). It was however a lovely……

“Welcome was good, friendly and informative. Room was pleasant, clean and well situated with à separate entrance to Restaurant. Meals taken were good with excellent selection for breakfast. We were aware of entertainment in the Bar, which was excellent both nights. Note: entertainment is not availble in their Bar every night but there is entertainment somewhere in Rostrevor each night.”

“We thoroughly enjoyed our stay-a charming older style hotel with lots of character. The property was clean and very well maintained. Beautiful grounds and setting in the hills overlooking Newcastle-yet convenient to most everything. And the staff were super friendly and helpful. The restaurant served wonderful comfort food at a very good value. We will definitely return on a future visit.”
