“Seven of us age range 6-75 stayed at Gardners Cottage during New Year week. On arrival welcomed by the warmth of the property in the afternoon of the last day of the year. And welcomed even more by the Christmas tree beautifully lit in the dining room.Other lovely festive decorations( including mistletoe ) were still there in the hallway and lounge.The lounge very comfortable but may have benefitted by another light in the winter afternoon and evenings. The Smart TV was available in one……

“The hotel is part of a historic inn which was very atmospheric. We stayed in a family room for 3 people and the room was warm and cosy and welcoming as we arrived just before 9pm and it was a bit chilly in the countryside. Breakfast was excellent and in a nice dining room in a genuine rural setting. Service was friendly & excellent.”

“Room and bathroom beautifully equipped and spotlessly clean. Breakfasts were amazing. All staff were very welcoming and hospitable. Great base to explore the area. It was unfortunate while we were there that the lift was out of order, making it difficult for my elderly disabled mother to get to and from our first floor room. Access to a lounge or somewhere to sit in the evenings would have made it perfect.”
