"Conveniently located hotel for an affordable price"
There are some great pros to staying here that are almost equal with the cons. First of all, you can't beat the location. It is right in the heart of old San Juan, and its safe and totally walkable. Close to shopping, food, nightlife, and the waterfront! The staff was very friendly and welcoming and helped us with recommendations. But again, because this hotel is such a steal, there are a few amenities lacking - the bed and pillows weren't the most comfortable and there was no common area to hang out in. Everything was clean but there was no daily refresh with the beds made or extra towels dropped off. Again, for the location and price, it makes sense there is some trade off. All in all would recommend for a traveler on a budget who will spend more time exploring than staying in the hotel.

This hotel is in a great area near a lot of active night life if old San Juan. Cool place but you should be aware of some things before you book here... My biggest complaint is there is no TV in the room. They have a Jacuzzi on the roof which would be awesome but the water was cold. It doesn't have a resort feel. Its a crash pad so you can go out and drink then go to the room and recover. The hotel sits on top of a car/club so it gets pretty loud in certain rooms. Other then that this place is pretty cool.

We stayed one night, & it was very good. Walked to EL morro & all local shops around. They don't have hotel parking, but there's another parking lot across the street & the staff is very helpful. I would stay here again!

My husband and I stayed 3 nights at The Wave before a cruise. From our greeting from the desk clerk, to our very clean room and relaxing social time in the rooftop hot tubs, and free breakfast we enjoyed our stay here. It was walkable to old San Juan, the beach and several restaurants and stores.

This is a very basic hotel, essentially providing a clean room for overnight stay and that's all we wanted. It is right in the heart of Old San Juan and walking distance to the forts, restaurants and piers. Front desk Staff were friendly and helpful.
Rooms have no windows but were overall clean and comfortable and have AC. Very old and slow elevator but in working condition. Good Wifi but available only near reception area and not in rooms.
Area is safe with convenient food, pharmacy, taxi stand, grocery store all just steps from the hotel.

The hotel is in walking distance to everything, and you're very close to the harbor. The hotel staff were extremely helpful with places to go and helping us with parking. I would definitely recommend it!!

"Perfect hotel on the beach: chairs/umbrella/towels"
The descriptions made note that you had to cross a street to get to the beach and while this is kind of accurate, in reality, the street is a quiet back alley type of street. The hotel faces the beach. You can walk out with your sunblock in hand and the Beach Club will get everything else set up for you: towels, very comfortable chairs and umbrellas. That's the best part of this hotel and I wouldn't stay anywhere else if I wanted to enjoy the beach in San Juan. We chose the right place!
The staff is incredibly friendly and helpful. After we checked out on our last day, we checked our luggage in with them and sat on the beach one more full day. It was lovely. The room is comfortable and quiet (probably best not to stay on the highest floors if you like the quiet, we stayed on the fifth floor and were fine).
Only one issue, the room card keys continually lost their power and we had to get them reset multiple times.

Had a great time, and it is a beautiful hotel. It caters to an older, more stoic, upscale crowd than the "neon glitz & flash" of nearby La Concha. Had a minor incident with a very rude employee, but I honestly think this was a corner case (exception) and definitely NOT the norm. Edvard (the manager) handled the situation perfectly, and was wonderful to work with: a true professional! The location is perfect, and the views can't be beat. Had room service twice and it was EXCELLENT! A couple other people who stood out for exemplary service:
Edward: the bellman
Vivian & Freddie in Room Service.
