"Our group had the Backyard Campground all to ourselves on a wonderful Friday evening. Doug (owner) met us at the entrance and gave us a quick tour before pointing us back towards our campsites. We thoroughly enjoyed the riverside sites overlooking his neighbor's beautiful farm. Firewood was provided and the portable restrooms were sparklingly clean. Would love to come back and stay again next time."

Brookside Lodge

6/10 Okay

"Brookside Lodge has potential to be a good little place to stay, its on the creek and the staff was very friendly and helpful but its needs a serious renovation. Our first room was a king we got in it, its so old with wood paneling very musky smelling, the bed was wore out the chair was broke and the door would not lock. We changed rooms all was left was a double queen it was some better but one bed frames was broke so we couldn’t use it. I did love the creek with the deck out back, That was peaceful listening to the creek"

"My family enjoyed our stay here. Was happy that we could park in the lot before check in. It's a convenient short walk to the strip. We enjoyed the shaded patio next to the creek, the indoor pool section was just like the photos, and breakfast was good although you do have to pay for it. We had also eaten dinner there and the pizza and fried ravioli bites were delicious. The staff was very friendly and welcoming. Now I understood you do get what you pay for so wasn't expecting much, the actual rooms were pretty outdated and I didn't really think it through getting a room by the pool- was very wet mildewy smell as soon as you walk in and the curtains have to be shut unless your okay with everyone seeing in."

"Room is need of refresh, but location and rooms were nice size and wrap around deck with 6 chairs and table was used. Hot tub and indoor pool were nice. In room hot tub was powerful, and large master bath size was great. Parking is tight but covered. Did not like new owners time share push, but I don't want a part of. Not sure what might to rent here again with time share push. But this stay was OK."

"Exceptional views of the Smokies. The room was comfortable and clean, with plenty of towels and toiletries. The staff was very friendly and the grounds were kept tidy. The balcony was perfect for relaxing after an exhausting day of walking the Parkway. While on the drive up we were graced with three bear cubs, then later while enjoying the beautiful night on the balcony - Mama bear walked her cubs right below our room. Priceless!"

"Stayed for 2 days had to get 3 keys they stopped working after one use and to walk a blick everytime to get a new key was so ridiculous as we were in the hill top that road was to steep the room was clean and the shower was nice but the key problem just kinda ruined it all at my age I should never had to walk so much"
