“We stayed in the Cally Palace hotel many years ago when it was a luxurious and special place to stay. Unfortunately it is now in a state of disrepair both externally and internally. The bedrooms rooms badly need to be updated from their 1970/80s wallpaper and furniture. The lampshade in our bedroom , number 54, had part of the “glass” missing, a cracked wash hand basin and the carpet threadbare in places. The room itself was a great size but so uncared for. “Location was excellent in town centre near bars and restaurants. Parking on road outside hotel. Double bed on the small size .”

“A very nice little hotel with tidy clean room with lots of little touches such as coffees, teas biscuits etc. Excellent evening meal at reasonable cost. Good breakfast with good choice. Friendly service and nice decor in dining room. Good location just off the A75 road.”

“After a communications issue I got the code and enjoyed our sunny happy space. Had a couple suggestions for owner who responded quickly. Frustrated with VRBO/Expedia for shirking responsibilities for fees and chose to blame owner. Poor customer service from the company but owner’s efficiency more than compensated for their failure.”

“I thought the Kings Arms was an excellent country pub for an overnight stay. Staff very friendly and helpful and I enjoyed the restaurant and bar as well.”
