4.8/5Exceptional! (28 reviews)
Overall, beautifully-done, but fell short of the Ritz Carlton pricing level ($1k/night is too much for this location and quality - more like $400 or $500/night). Rooms were nice, but on the small side. Lobby area was very pretty, as was the pool scene, but it looks out onto the tar roof of the building across the street (in addition to ocean), and the look & feel of the place was just short of the mark (e.g., all the interior doors felt like storm doors/YMCA steel doors vs. fine in look/feel). Some blips on service. Strange registration experience - small room downstairs without much of a sense of space. And the area itself is a mixed-feeling area. Like a reclamation project, but not a nice area like Spring Lake (5 miles down the road) or even as nice as Belmar. Not dangerous feeling, but just far less refined than the price of the hotel and hotel pictures communicate.
