My family and I had a great stay here! JP and his associates welcomed us and made us feel at home. Complimentary breakfast was great and the other meals were delicious. The room itself was great given you are in the jungle, so there was no a/c and typical sugar ants but nothing unexpected. The pool and the views were gorgeous. The hot tub was down while we were there but it wasn’t missed. We took advantage of the Lake Tour and La Tia’s massage services which were both worth the money. We traveled to La Fortuna and used a shuttle service that picked us up right from the hotel. Overall, we would definitely stay here again!

We stayed at El Tigre Hideaway for four nights in July and had a truly unique and memorable experience. The villa itself is beautiful and thoughtfully equipped with everything you might need, including extra blankets, robes and slippers, a fully stocked kitchen, and plenty of toiletries and supplies. The staff was also incredibly responsive and helpful throughout our stay. The nearby hikes were absolutely amazing and were some of the highlights of our trip. If you're looking for an authentic rainforest experience, this is it! There are a few things future guests should know. We visited in July and it rained almost nonstop during our stay, so unfortunately we weren't able to enjoy the outdoor patios or swing areas. We hiked in the rain, which was part of the adventure, but the humidity made it difficult for clothes to dry, even inside the villa. A small washer and dryer would be a wonderful addition for guests returning from muddy hikes. Also, if you are uncomfortable with bugs, be prepared. Even with doors and windows closed, some insects still found their way inside. They were fascinating and unlike anything we had ever seen, but there were quite a few of them. As advertised, you cannot drive directly to the villa and must use their transportation service. The drivers were prompt most of the time, but the road is steep, rocky, unpaved, and quite bumpy! No maid service and the closest restaurant for dinner is 30 minutes away. A peaceful, remote rainforest retreat

Lovely self sustaining eco resort in the midst of the forest. We loved the food, the coziness of the cabin, the yoga classes, and wandering around the property. The farm tour and the night tour were fun activities to do with a 4 year old. We did not like: occasional smell of sewage around the property, especially around the pools. Dated bathrooms in cabins - needs a refresh. Construction noise around the property.

My family and I loved all of it. Is it perfect? No, but it did not have to be? In order to be fair I need to rate the individual aspects and put them in perspective. Hotel Overall the hotel is a 5 star. Its clean, well maintained. exceptional service, beautiful foliage and atmosphere. Location 5 (Rio Celeste Area) Rooms 5 Big, beautiful, clean and outdoor shower my favorite. Pool Area 5. Why? It is super clean. relaxing and Service is always available. Even if your are the only person or family at the pool area they have full service (Food/Drinks) Kantala Restaurant 4.5, Food 5, Star, Price 4.5 only because portions are small. If you have children and are at diner they will accommodate ordering from the lunch menu, just have to ask. What a wonderful accommodation!. Tours booked thru hotel: 5, Why? You pay a little bit more but they provide wonderful door to door service and the extra charge is worth it. Hotel Staff 5: We encountered wonderful staff in all areas, not one single complaint. I would say EXCEPETIONAL! We stayed for 5 nights. We will surely return and stay for longer within the next two years. I was able to relax and my wife and children would love to do it again. We will not chance changing hotel on our return simply because our experience was complete. The hotel's location is wonderful and there are many attractions nearby. Feel free to explore the area. You don't need car but I recommend one if you want to explore freely the surrounding, Simply WONDERFUL!
