We were extremely disappointed with our stay. The first thing we noticed was the horrible odor in both the hallways and our room. The smell was overwhelming and made the stay very unpleasant. Housekeeping was also disappointing. Our room was booked for two people, yet we were given only one washcloth and one hand towel. After cleaning, they took the dirty towels but didn’t replace them, leaving us with only one bath towel. When we requested more, it took over an hour. The toilet would not flush properly unless you held the handle down. Based on the online photos, we expected a beautiful, historic-style king room that reflected the estate’s character. Instead, we got what looked like a standard hotel room. There was nowhere comfortable to sit and watch TV or eat, other than one desk & chair and a high window seat. There was no couch, table, or additional seating. The sheer curtains provided almost no privacy. Parking was also very poorly designed. After check-in, the lot downhill was one-way, with the entrance and exit on opposite sides of the property. To park legally, you had to leave the property, drive through city streets, and re-enter instead of simply looping around. The old carpets should be replaced, as the odor was the biggest issue. This was not the “estate” experience we expected from the online photos. We would never recommend this property and will not be returning.
