Cheorwon is located approximately 70 miles (113 kilometers) west of Sokcho and about 45 miles (72 kilometers) northeast of Seoul, the capital of South Korea.
And of course, there is more to Gangwon than Cheorwon alone, so schedule in some time to tour the region's cultural and natural attractions. Deokhyeon, 25 miles (40 kilometers) to the north, and Chuncheon, 30 miles (48 kilometers) to the northwest of Cheorwon are worth a visit too.
Organize some transportation and head to Seoul, a shopping and transport center for the region, located 45 miles (72 kilometers) away from Cheorwon. The place offers plenty of points of interest, including Jamsil Arena, Seoul Forest and Seoul Grand Park. If you're still looking for things to do in the city centre, consider checking out Seoul Sports Complex, Myeongdong Cathedral and Yeonsei University before returning to Cheorwon.
History lovers won't want to miss the area's war relics and monuments, old towns and fortresses. Gangwon has been graced with some wonderful temples, sure to inspire both atheists and the faithful.
Make sure you throw in a pair of walking shoes and join one of the city walking tours. Winter is a great time to visit Gangwon. Grab your woollen hat and scarf and try the wintersports here. Try snowboarding or skiing.
Even the best vacation can't go on forever, so when it's time go home, head to the nearest major airport in Seoul, 50 miles (80 kilometers) away.
