"We enjoyed our week in this house very much! It has a well-stocked kitchen for cooking in, ample outdoor seating options for cozy chatting, and absolutely beautiful river frontage with lots of wildlife to enjoy! The home is exceptionally well appointed for a vacation rental...the hosts really thought of everything from comfortable linens and mattresses to complimentary toiletries that you'd want/need and it really made our stay here a standout. We also highly recommend a day trip to hike The Channels - what an unexpected find!!"

"So let me start by saying that you couldn't ask for a friendlier staff. They were very helpful and polite. The breakfast everyday was delicious. The bed was probably the most comfortable I've ever had in a hotel room. Unfortunately my main issue was that the room we were in 225 had an air conditioner that not only didn't keep a steady comfortable temperature, (room stayed humid) but I had to turn it off and die of heat in the room rather than run it, as it must need a good cleaning because I woke with a severe asthma attack one night with it running to the point I thought I might need paramedics, and the next night my throat was nearly swollen shut. I am highly allergic to mildew and mold, and this AC unit needs a deep cleaning. It smelled musty, and my asthma was okay with it completely turned off, but we were so hot."

"We had family business in Saltville, so my husband, myself and our 65lb Standard Poodle stayed at this property in May 2026. It was exactly as portrayed on the VRBO site. We particularly loved sitting on the covered front porch and listening to the creek. All of the porches/decks have gates so there are no worries about keeping your dogs safe. The fencing is high enough that we did not worry about our Poodle being able to get over it. Inside, the house is nicely furnished and has everything that we needed. A lot of thought was put into providing what guests would like and need for a stay in the mountains, like blankets for wrapping up to sit on the porch, an electric fireplace to warm up, and lots of coffee and tea for the Keurig and kettle. A regular coffee pot is also provided. I saw that several reviews indicated that this is on a busy street, but that is not the case. There is vehicle traffic, but the cars are few and far between. Do note that most travel well above the posted speed though. Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Creekside and will stay again when our travels bring us back to the area."
