This spacious retreat nestled in the Sam Houston National forest boasts an abundance of wildlife with plenty of room for parking your boat, exhibition, or horse trailers. This getaway sleeps 8 and includes extra media and game rooms complete with pool table and air hockey. Relaxing in nature with all the amenities that make getting away fun. Music festival girls trip
What a beautiful property.! A little off the beaten path but close enough to stores, etc to not feel isolated. No problems getting Ubers to pick us up. The barndominium was adorable. Plenty of common spaces to spread out and visit and the bedrooms and baths were all comfortable and well appointed. Would definitely stay here again.

This barn dominium was the bomb! The convenience of an elevator in a home! WHO KNEW? LOL It was very much appreciated, when taking luggage and groceries to 2nd floor. A very quiet and secluded location. The lighting could have been brighter, especially in the bathrooms and bedrooms. Trying to put makeup on for a wedding was a bit challenging, and also there were no mirrors, other than in the bathrooms. Mirrors and brighter lighting would be highly recommended! Having a laundry room available was a definite plus too! We have another upcoming wedding this year and will definitely consider staying here again. Thank you Laurie for allowing my family to stay in your home! We loved it very much!

It was magical!
This enchanted property in the middle of the woods is everything you could hope for a secluded vacation while still within easy reach of the lake, restaurants, shopping and just a skip to Houston. Fantastic 5 star communication. We plan to go back soon!

Surrounded by nature
We loved it here , my kids were playing outside most of the time and especially in the game room . They have so many games for the kids , not only that but i loved the trails to the creek. We actually Didn't want to leave and wished we had booked it longer. We were here for 5 days and 4 nights, the property owner was very nice and very attended when I would call. I will recommend this place for anyone who loves nature and wants to be in a peaceful place with privacy. I will be staying here again, hopefully really soon.

Definitely worth the stay offers everything you can think while unplug from daily routine and all technology. Yet close enough to the city very nice staycation options for families and couples. The loft had Enough space for all guest of all ages to enjoy both downstairs and upstairs. Owners easy to get in touch with and comfortable to communicate with. There is cable available, WiFi. Things to enjoy #1. The small hike to the creek on the property our toddlers had so much fun playing in the creek water clear and clean. #2. Picnic area with grill included #3. The play room has lots of widows to overlook very relaxing in the mornings and fun to play the games in there like air hockey table and other games owners provide the noise is far away from other rooms. #4 the full size pool table downstairs and kitchenette useful for not having to go upstairs to the kitchen all the time. #5 the whole bathroom downstairs was very nice and accessible friendly huge plus. #6 full kitchen #7 the rooms thoughts out just right for everyone to sleep comfortably and have space for all their things #8 media room downstairs fun to watch movies and use the dvd owners have dvd library to choose from. #9 watching all the wild life around at all hours of the day. #10 this place was clean , neat , organized offers privacy all around , quite , felt safe. definitely will be back here. This place is a hidden gem.

Wonderful place for families!
This was the best place to stay! It is wheelchair-friendly and even has an elevator. There were so many activities available in the house like games, puzzles, etc. It is a beautiful house and has everything you could possibly need.

Beautiful Rental!
This place is gorgeous, clean, very nicely decorated and have all the things we needed! The downstairs bed was the most comfy bed Ive ever slept in, however the upstairs beds were not so comfy. Some of our teens slept on couches and chairs. The only complaint we had was the description did not include the fact that the owners live 100ish feet from the rental and were home and outside alot. Most people may not mind but we were looking for secluded woods away from people and it just threw us off when we pulled up. However I will say that the owners were very nice and did not intrude at all. The only thing that would have made the house better was a fire pit out back! Our kids enjoyed the trails and creek and they especially loved the elevator! Overall it was a great vaca!

Calm restful retreat
We were having renovations done on our house and needed to be away for a week. My stress was alleviated by the peaceful wooded surroundings. Bonus—husband had hip issues and the elevator made it easy on him! If you enjoy quiet, nature trails and chilling—you will be pleased. Our grandkids came for the day and can’t stop talking about exploring!!

This house was a perfect place to relax near family. My sister and I met here to have Thanksgiving with our parents. The house was such a fun place for our young adult children. There’s lots to do and the house was so nice. We had everything we needed.

Great weekend getaway in the woods
Had a wonderful time relaxing at Laurie's barndominium in the woods over the weekend. Plenty of things to do inside during the hottest part of the day, and beautiful property to walk around and hang out on the porches in the evening. I saw fireflies for the first time in years!! Everything needed to cook meals was easy to find, and the entire place was well decorated and very clean. Will certainly rent again!

Our second amazing stay!
Our family of 7 calls it "the elevator house"... It simply does not get any better than this! Perfect accommodations, serene setting, space for everyone to enjoy. Peace and quiet, or loud fun with the pool table or air hockey. We love it here! We will be back a third time :)

Property was nice and quiet! The listing says 2 bathrooms and while it does have 2 bathrooms there is only 1 shower in the whole house. Which kinda makes it hard on 4 people who all need showers daily. The upstairs is a bath tub with a shower head that is not functional. The water pressure was kinda lacking and the main shower would get hot and cold interchangeably. The stairs were very slippery and one person slipped and fell down the stairs. The upstairs lighting is all together horrible! It is extremely dark and half the light switches do not work. However the beds were EXTREMELY comfortable which made our stay way more enjoyable! The elevator is a nice add on. All the games and extra living room area and deck was nice and enjoyable. All and all it was not terrible just needs a little updating with the bathroom and bedrooms!

Family with handicapped teenager in wheelchair
This place is ideal for a family member who is wheelchair bound. From the elevator to the large walk-in shower and wide enough doorways, etc. this is the place you want to take your handicapped loved one to, to enjoy a really pleasant "holiday in the woods" with the rest of the family. We had a great time there during the last week in December of 2021 when temperatures ranged in the upper 70s and lower 80s. However, on our last day there the temperature plunged overnight to freezing (this is Texas, right?). Incidentally, this is also when a power outage occurred in the area that lasted most of the night... For this rental unit, besides an obvious loss of central heating (though there is still a wood fireplace available) and elevator functionality, that also meant a loss of running water and the ability to flush toilets. So maybe keep that in mind. (It was also the first time in 10 years that I had to go without my CPAP for the night which meant little or no sleep for me with a 4 hour trip back home that awaited the next morning for which I was the sole driver...) Another thing: Be extra vigilant in reading and carefully following the directions given in the booking confirmation. Our Honda's GPS took us down the wrong road that ultimately dead-ended at a closed-off bridge behind the property. Upon making a U-turn our vehicle got stuck in mud on a lawn that was soaking wet from a disguised spring underneath. This little incident freaked out our naturally scared 8-year old, our 2-year old, as well as our mentally and physically handicapped 16-yr old... (Their simultaneous panic was quite something to behold while trying to jack up stuck front wheels in the mud in total darkness... - Lol! Anyway, about three hours later we finally managed to get out of there with the kind assistance of the Property Manager and a very friendly local resident who came to the rescue with his 4x4 truck. So yeah, make sure to read those directions beforehand.

Woods Getaway
Really nice place. We enjoyed our stay here. Pool and Air Hockey games were a plus. One note of interest, I believe the Vrbo site listed a gas grill, but charcoal was needed.
