"The room smelled strongly of bleach and we could not stay as we found it hard to breathe. There was also no soap when we arrived. Hotel staff were very courteous and understood our problem with the bleach smell immediately. They told us to contact Expedia to get the refund of what we had paid in advance. We have not yet received that refund. The amount charged when we arrived at the hotel desk was refunded promptly. Parking was confusing. There is a lot adjacent the building, but you must climb many stairs to enter that way. There is supposedly more parking in a catty corner lot, but we didn't stay long enough to see it. Select the "courtyard view" if you want to be able to see part of downtown Natchitoches from your room. The "historic view" now looks on what seems to be a parking garage."

"Stayed in the St.Augustine room. Air conditioning worked well but maybe not as accurate as we put the temp on. There was No ventilation in the bathroom which likely was rough on the AC. Walls are thin so be mindful of that. The bed was SUPER comfortable. A thoughtful stool for getting into the bed was there and available. I missed that this place has free continental breakfast every morning. And as an even better surprise, they also have a wine happy hour. Beautiful courtyard as well as a balcony to enjoy. Walking distance from everything we wanted to see and do. Staff was absolutely amazing. "

"We always bring a black light with us to check the bed for fluids and bed bugs. We needed a new fitted sheet, but there were none available. So, we slept on the mattress pad instead. The shower and rest of the bathroom were gross. Breakfast was good"

"Poor Customer Service My husband booked a room around 6 PM for what he believed was the same night. When he arrived at the hotel, he realized the reservation had accidentally been made for a date one month ahead instead of that night. The hotel informed him they had no availability for the same night, which is understandable. However, what was disappointing was that they refused to refund the reservation. The booking had been made less than two hours earlier, and the reservation was still scheduled a full month in advance, giving them plenty of time to rebook the room. Despite explaining the mistake, they denied returning the money. Very disappointing customer service and lack of flexibility for an honest mistake."
