"Sterling Darjeeling is a great place to stay for a trip to the area. The location is much better than anything close to the mall. You can avoid all the traffic and noise of central Darjeeling. Views of the valley and surround mountains are great. The staff is very helpful. If you’re traveling from the airport, you will get to the property much faster (hours) than any place close to the mall because of all the traffic even though it’s only a few kilometers away. "Sinclair's is an older, well-maintained, and attractive property, with beautiful views of Kanchenjunga. The street leading up to it is steep, and then are stairs leading up to the hotel and more to the rooms (no lift), so you need to be all right with that. (We're over 70 and had no problem.) The staff is lovely and go out of their way to help you. I'd single out Bragya--I hope I have her name right--for exceptional service, helping us find a taxi to Bagdogra at a heavily touristed festival...

"The staff are amazing. Incredibly helpful and kind. Nothing is too much trouble and they have made our onward travel much easier with their suggestions and organisation. We took the top floor room and the views were fabulous. They do warn that the stairs take some fitness which is true, but I never had to carry my own bag."

"Calm peace fresh air location easy three wheeler or taxi ride from Bagdogra airport or Railway station. The property has everything you need within it's garden. Food is excellent and reasonably priced. Bed comfortable air conditioning great shower luxurious WiFi fast. A great personal touch was the care of Arun.
