“The staff were very professional and very pleasant and helpful. The reception and main lobby area were very pleasant and looked impressive until you got into the bedrooms they were extremely tired. Really need to be updated. The floor carpets were terrible.I felt like I was in the 1970s The room and bathroom was extremely tired particularly for a 4 star hotel which I believe used to be a 5 star The furniture in the room was old and very tired looking.”

“Hotel was nice. Actual bedroom was in need of modernisation. Bar only had one member of staff when we arrived which wasn't ideal but she coped and they did eventually get her some help. Function room was good and breakfast in the morning was ok but nothing special.”

“Booked a valley castle room w king bed for one night in late Sep. Room was very clean with comfy n up to date decor. Room was big enough and soundproof quality was good. Big garden surrounded hotel n we took a pleasant walk the next day. Should have stayed for one or two nights so as to enjoy swimming pool and other facilities. The historical building was well maintained. Very pleasant stay ”

“Incredible hotel, couldn’t recommend more. The only fault I could find was the WiFi. It was a very weak connection that fell in and out of connection every single day, normally wouldn’t be a big issue but obviously you don’t have any data in that location either. Other than that, spectacular!!”

“Large clean room with sofa bed and a double bed. Small fridge and hairdryer. Large bathroom with shower, sink and toilet. Shower floods bathroom everytime due to not having a door/screen to floor meaning you have to use 3 towels on floor to stop this, bad design in my opinion. Breakfast was your normal buffet restaurant, nit a lot of gluten free options avaliable, asked for some gluten free bread and was handed one small slice. Hotel close to beach, and town so great location. Not enough parking……

“located in the small downtown Lyme Regis, easy to go to the beach, shops and restaurants it is an very old inn, very tradition english wooden building, downstair is the bar and restaurant, a bit oily smell, beware of no air-con”
