“We stayed for one night, also having dinner and breakfast. The room was lovely and clean, the dinner and breakfast were both freshly cooked and delicious. It was great to see the bar /restaurant buzzing with locals and others staying there. Staff were really helpful. Would definitely recommend as a great place to stay and located well for exploring. ”

“Its an old thatched pub and the room shape and conditions reflect that - sloping floors and wonky walls but the bedding , towels etc were clean and fresh. Rooms are above the bar so not quiet until the pub closes. Pub downstairs is friendly and has a good atmosphere with plenty of choice behind the bar. They serve food but I didn't try any so can't comment on that. Reasonably large attached car park although theres no covered area or anything to chain a motorcycle to.”

“An interesting place and not necessarily in a positive way. The, very few, staff working were lovely and very accommodating, and the food decent but goodness me does the place need an overhaul. Dated, scruffy and not on my list to return to. Sad really as it could be a very beautiful desirable place to stay if time and money were spent on it.”

“Well located for shops and both Exeter Main and St. Davids railway stations. My room was compact but well thought out and well equipped. It was great to have a light next to the bed which you could turn off/on easily and the shower was good. Breakfast was first class, beautifully served and coffee one of the best. I would have liked more savoury options for the breakfast but that is just a small preference. Host was really helpful and very welcoming. I would stay here again.”

“We stayed for one night and unfortunately were quite disappointed with our experience. The air conditioning in our room was not working, which made it extremely hot and uncomfortable, especially as there were no windows that could be opened for ventilation. The bar staff were also very unhelpful. They seemed reluctant to serve customers and repeatedly told us they had run out of ingredients for mocktails. The overall service felt poor and unwelcoming.
