“The hotel is absolutely gorgeous and spotless. We had a beautiful view of the ocean from our room, which was very spacious. The bed was quite comfortable and the rooms seemed to be sound-proof because it was so quiet and relaxing. Livermead beach is located across the street; the beach is beautiful, but the sand disappears at high tide, so be sure to plan your beach day around this. We also loved the stunning views from the rooftop terrace bar. We would love to return to Torquay and stay here……

“located in the small downtown Lyme Regis, easy to go to the beach, shops and restaurants it is an very old inn, very tradition english wooden building, downstair is the bar and restaurant, a bit oily smell, beware of no air-con”

“The staff were very helpful and nice. Breakfast was excellent. Our sea view room was wonderful but very warm in a heatwave! There was a small fan but the window didn't open far due to safety so we did need our own additional fans. Our only recommendation to the management would be to please sort out the shower. After a day on the beach a good shower with decent pressure and temperature control is essential. Also the shower screen was so small it was impossible to avoid water flooding the……

“We stayed at the Derwent, we had requested for rooms close but were put on completely different floors. The hotel is very dated and is overdue an upgrade. The rooms are tired looking. We found some of the staff a little aloof and not many smiles around on reception or in the bars. The amenities are good. The outdoor and indoor pools looked good. There are some quieter places to sit if you wished. We had a lovely couple of days in Torquay and the hotel is conveniently located. If we stayed again……
