"On our visit to the south of France we decided to stop in Nîmes overnight to see the temples and Roman Coliseum. We chose Hotel de l’Ampitheatre for its proximity to the train station and the sights, and high ratings. We were not disappointed. The staff is friendly and helpful, the hotel is clean and charming, and the breakfast is fresh and delicious. It felt like a lovely little Inn. If we travel to Nîmes again, we will not hesitate to return to this hotel"

"Very handy location for train station and the walk up to the arena, Roman museum etc. Air con worked well. Helpful on front desk. Map pin is not in quiet the right place and the entrance to the hotel is not easy to spot. Doorway is on raised walkway 3 doors to the left of a very hand City Carrefore minimart. Room was quiet. Good price. Both the central bus station and the railway station are on the doorstep. Bus to Arles 2 euro!"

"The staff at this hotel go above and beyond to help you enjoy your stay. The rooms were lovely, clean and comfortable. just a short ride to both Nimes and Arles. On Monday evening be sure to attend the 'family style' dinner put on by the hotel as nothing is really open in the area until at least 7:00 pm."

"This is a wonderful property, and we're very happy with our stay there. We were celebrating several milestone birthdays, and over the course of three weeks we had visits from various friends and family members to help us celebrate. There was plenty of space for meal prep and group dinners.During the recent heatwave, the air conditioning and the pool were greatly appreciated!The views from the deck were even better than the photos in the property listing suggested.We appreciated the information on local attractions and facilities that we found in the house. Particularly appreciated was the listing of all markets in the vicinity.One noteworthy thing that was not mentioned in the materials on local attractions was that there is an extensive network of hiking trails in the hills above the house. Among other things, it's easy to explore the Roman aqueduct that passes by Sernhac (the same system that includes the Pont du Gard), including easy hikes to Roman tunnels."

"This was our second stay at the Royal hotel, our first was just an overnight stay, and we liked Nimes so much we wanted longer and couldn't imagine a better hotel. This time it totally lived up to expectations. It is amazingly convenient for the centre of historic Nimes, opposite the Maison Carre! The rooms are comfortable, the building itself interesting architecturally, and some very quirky and amusing decor. We arrived during the Pentecost festival, which was very lively ☺️. Some features of the hotel were out of action while they cleaned up afterwards, but plenty of cafes restaurants around. The staff are amazing and helpful. Breakfast on the terrace was fab. I have multiple allergies and they catered for them really carefully. Thank you, Hotel Nimes, we will be back! "

"The hotel room was certainly UNIQUE. I have never seen a design like that. it was very FRENCH. Not a complaint, it was very cute and the decor made me smile. Beautiful spacious bathroom as well. Very nice stay. Friendly staff. Would stay again"

"I love this hotel for its location, and have stayed there several times. This time the staff were extra friendly, the breakfast was very good, lovely fresh fruit and juice. Being an Ibis it does what it does on the tin !! and is always dependable."

"Well, before all, I need to say that it was a real issue to go from one hotel to another one, to get the entrance and the room key, and to understand the way it worked… In my mind, it doesn’t make sense. When you reserve a room in a hotel, it’s because you plan to be « received » there, and to be able to have « a human contact » there. It wasn’t the case at « Logis Héraclée ». There was about one mile of distance between the two hotels, and it was « necessary » to walk from one hotel to the other one."
