George Hotel

"On the positive side the staff were really good. Excellent service and very helpful and friendly. The food was good both for breakfast and evening meal. On the negative side, it's an old building and is showing it's age. The floor in our room had a noticeable slope (disconcerting when you get out of bed at night). There was no hot water one evening for a few hours. Seems no-one had spotted the boiler was off."

"Great staff - friendly, helpful, and full of local tips! The hotel was clean, and the lobby and overall decor throughout were lovely. Breakfast was excellent and generous, with great vegetarian options and staff who went above and beyond. The rooms were nicely decorated, and the dressing table was a very useful touch. We stayed in Room 8, with a lovely garden view. However, there were a few maintenance issues: the sink was blocking and draining slowly, which wasn't pleasant, the shower hose stand was loose so we had to hold it, and the toilet brush stand was also loose, making it feel unhygienic. We were then moved to Room 11, a classic king room, which was spacious and comfortable. The only issue there was the bathroom door, which was extremely stiff to open and close - at first, I thought I was locked in! We couldn’t control the room temperature, which was fixed at 22°C. Because the weather was mild, it felt quite stifled when trying to sleep. It would also be worth considering replacing the toilet brush holders across the rooms. The holders were loose in both rooms, and because the brushes aren't covered, it doesn't feel very hygienic. Overall, the rooms didn quite live up to what we expected for the price. With the various maintenance issues, it felt like rooms aren't being quality checked, but the staff, breakfast, cleanliness, and location were great."

"Stayed one night prior to an early morning flight. Clean comfortable accommodation with ample parking. The restaurant provide a wide range of well presented food choices at reasonable prices. The staff were also very welcoming and helpful. This is the first time we have used the Sidcot Arms for a pre flight overnight stay and we certainly intend to use it again. The corridors are also well carpeted, thereby minimising noise from arriving and departing guests"

"Great hotel in a handy location...easy flat walk into the city. Everything is fresh and clean and the breakfast has a great choice. The only thing that lets it down is the extortionate cost for parking...way beyond anywhere else in Bath! We ended up using JustPark and paying £16 for over 24hrs parking rather than the £50 at the hotel!"
