“Lovely comfortable B&B with a very friendly owner. Our bedroom was perfect...comfortable bed, large clean seperate bathroom with a roll top bath overlooking the garden & countryside beyond. We had fresh milk for drinks, kept in a mini fridge & a wide variety of drink choices. We enjoyed chatting with Martin, one of the owners. Parking is on the roadside...plenty available. The town is easy enough to walk, but there is also plenty of parking available in Castle Cary, the interesting local town.”

“Lovely country pub, perfect for a stop over or to stay a few nights in the countryside. Staff were friendly and thoughtful, the food was excellent, and the restaurant/beer garden out the back was lovely in the warm summer eve.”

“Really quaint old inn with lots of exposed stone walls & beams. Staff were super friendly & helpful - really warm welcome & nothing was too much trouble. Bed very comfortable & the small double room I had was perfect just for me. Food in the restaurant was delicious & there was a good choice. Breakfast plentiful, well presented & hearty. “The breakfast was, I’d say, better than in a Hotel Ibis. The food was, definitely, locally sourced. We reached Bruton and the Hauser & Wirth arts complex easily from this hotel. We also visited the Jurassic Coast, but that took us a whole day, and we returned by 10pm.”

“Absolutely fantastic stay here! From the moment we checked in we felt at home and comfortable in the beautiful property. Jan and his colleagues were all helpful, friendly and enthusiastic throughout. Room was absolutely spotless, well appointed and comfortable. Food was exceptional, can’t speak highly enough about the evening meal we had it was absolutely delicious and breakfast in the morning was tasty too, super fresh pastries! “It was a nice property overall, but our room reeked of cigarettes, now my clothes also smell of cigarettes :-( We booked a second room for the rest of the family and that was much nicer. Helpful staff, nice restaurant with a delicious breakfast. Beautiful sunset over the restaurant terrace.”

“The B&B is definitely the best in my experience. Bedroom as well as bathroom are very clean and tidy. The paper folders in bathroom is antique-wise. Also electrical equipments are convenient and cool. Coffee server and fridge are stylish. Lights are well designed. Breakfast is delicious and plenty. Graham’s homemade jams are excellent. “Really lovely place. Very quiet and peaceful. A bit off the beaten track but still only half an hour away from Bristol. Really comfortable bed, and I had the best nights sleep I’ve had in ages. I wouldn’t say this if it wasn’t true! Only one minor point is that the shower head was a bit too low for me, as I’m around 6’ tall.”

“The room was far too hot. There was a thick winter 13 tog duvet on our bed ( and it was June weather) my husband asked for a blanket and sheet so the cleaner took away duvet but only left a sheet no blanket, so we were then cold on our second night and had to put our light raincoats on ourselves to keep warm:( The bed was far too small with it being a small double. Suggest you get smaller bedsize cabinets thsn the chunky ones and invest in a wider king-size bed for comfort for guests!”
