East Central Indiana Vacations from $276

I’m torn here because this is clearly a mom+pop run setup. The stay was fine. The room was clean though it very much smelled of smoke despite it being a “non-smoking room” and I’m allergic so that wasn’t great; the kitchenette was appropriate. Bathroom was clean. I checked in at roughly 7-8pm which was apparently “after hours” because there was no one at a desk or office and the key to my room was in a lock box in the lobby and you pop your paperwork in the slot to the office door. As mentioned my room smelled of smoke, but with no one at the desk to ask for a different room or cancellation, and the hassle + wait that would be required to call someone wasn’t worth it after my 6 hour drive. The breakfast was fine, but was described here as “top-rated”. Options were cereal, hard boiled eggs, various breads/English muffins in the a bag that everyone reaches into, yogurt, fruits (bonus points for having nectarines)… which again, fine, but far from “top rated”. Overall adequate, but the reviews had me expecting better which is maybe my own fault. I contemplated sleeping in my car instead of waking up in hives, but figured for the price I paid, I could double up on my allergy meds and tough it out. Wasn’t worth it. I should’ve slept in my car.

Staff was rude, Called asked for extra towels and bath robes. Lady kept hanging up before I finished talking. Robes were very old and outdated. Breakfast menu very limited. This hotel lost its spark. Poorly maintained. Front desk needs to be more polite. And let people finish talking before hanging up. Disappointing.

Wonderful hotel. Glad we staid. Plenty of good food and bars. Room was beautifully decorated. Comfortable.

My room was awesome, very clean, plenty of linens, love the full kitchen minus an oven. There’s a microwave and stove top, full size fridge and a dishwasher. Lots of parking. The staff was very accommodating and helpful. A special thanks to Tanya who was terrific! I feel like I made a friend with her.
