We absolutely loved this hotel. Location was fantastic for walking, staff were friendly, food and beer were great, and our room and shared spaces were fantastic. Would absolutely stay here again.

We stayed at The Raeburn for one night on a recent trip to Edinburgh but wish we could have stayed a few more! The room was huge with lovely woodwork and a marble bathroom (the fixtures were top-notch with a huge tub, huge shower, double sink, and towel warmer). Our king-sized bed was very comfortable and there was also a large flat-screen TV. The elevator made it easy to get to our room and there was parking on-site. The staff was friendly and helpful. This is a great place to stay if you’re looking for a quiet neighborhood without the mobs of tourists. The building is beautiful and quite sprawling. I was on the 2nd floor and had incredible views of Dean village. On clear days you can see quite far beyond the city into the mountains and sea.
My room was spacious and well stocked with coffee, espresso, tea, dishes, flatware, etc. I had control over the heat which i loved. The bed was quite comfortable and the furniture was quite nice. The...

This is one of the best hotels I've stayed in the UK (and I've been staying at quite a few 5 star hotels). The staff was professional, friendly, and accomodating. They def pay attention to details and ensure we have the best experience. Even provided me some of the best local recs and I was quite impressed (and this is coming from a foodie like me)

Enjoyed our stay here. Room was a great size with comfortable beds. Location is excellent: 5 min walk to the castle, and around a variety of shops and restaurants and a very safe area. Staff was helpful and friendly.
The only “con” is parking for the hotel, which is about a 15 min walk away, so can be challenging if driving.

Convenient location allowed us to walk to all the attractions, shops, and endless dining options. The staff was friendly, the bartender was a super hard worker and great at his job, and the rooms were clean. The hotel locks the gate at night so you have to use your key to get in, which is a nice feature for safety. If you are a light sleeper, it might be too noisy for you. Not from inside, but the people outside late at night (our room was facing the street). I found it entertaining and added to...

Close to the Edinburgh castle, and transportation to airport. Staffs are friendly and helpful. Elevator does not reach the 3rd floor, a wee annoying but not a problem for us.

This is a wonderful hotel. We will definitely stay here on future trips. The location is ideal and the employees so responsive. Then beds were super comfortable, I just wish they offered a top sheet in addition to the duvet for the weird Americans that are used to that. I'm sure we could have asked for one. We just loved our suite. Top choice

We had a short stay in Edinburgh, and this hotel was a real highlight. The interior design is beautiful and thoughtful, and the room felt comfortable. The bed was very comfortable, so we slept well every night.
The staff were especially good. They were welcoming and helpful from the moment we arrived, and they made the stay easy.
The location is quiet and peaceful, but you still get good connections into the city centre. Arthur's Seat is also easy to reach, which was a big plus for us. One...

Amazing, quaint hotel that also still serves as the Royal Scots Club. Located in a more quiet part of New Town, yet only a few blocks away from St. Andrews Square, Princes Street & Stockbridge.
Hotel atmosphere might be a bit too settled for families with small children or younger partygoers & clubberers, everyone else who is looking for a nice and quiet retreat from the hectic and tourist filled city and a friendly, personal staff should not get disappointed.

While it was bizarre being above a shopping mall, the hotel was great. We stayed in a mobility-accessible room which was filled with thoughtful design choices. Loved having the kitchenette, too.

Stays in Edinburgh with private pools offer a more exclusive and relaxing way to experience the destination, combining extra privacy with resort-style comfort. Whether you’re planning a romantic getaway, a luxury escape, or simply want your own space to unwind, find a range of stays on Expedia, from beachfront villas and stylish suites to secluded retreats with scenic views. You can choose a great stay in Edinburgh with properties to suit all budgets and needs. A private pool stay adds an effortless sense of comfort, freedom, and indulgence to any trip.
Staying in a stay with a private pool in Edinburgh?
Booking a stay with a private pool in Edinburgh offers a far more personal and elevated experience than a standard stay pool. Instead of sharing spaces or sticking to pool opening hours, you can enjoy complete privacy, quieter surroundings, and the freedom to swim, relax, and unwind whenever you like, adding a sense of exclusivity to the trip. Whether that means morning swims with a view, peaceful afternoons in your own space, or romantic evenings away from busy resort areas, a private pool stay turns the stay itself into a memorable part of the vacation.
Where to stay in Edinburgh for private pool stays
The best areas to stay in Edinburgh for stays with private pools often depend on the type of trip you’re planning. Beachfront resort zones are ideal for travelers looking for luxury amenities, sea views, and easy access to restaurants, nightlife, and water activities, while quieter districts offer a more peaceful area with added privacy and scenic surroundings. In many destinations, private pool villas and suites can also be found in city-edge resorts, countryside escapes, and adults-only retreats. Choosing the right area for a private pool stay allows travelers to combine comfort, location, and experience.
Top amenities in Edinburgh private pool stays
Many stays in Edinburgh with private pools offer far more than just exclusive swimming access, combining luxury properties with premium resort amenities designed for a more comfortable and relaxing stay. Depending on the property, guests can enjoy spa and wellness facilities, ocean-view suites, beachfront locations, all-inclusive dining options, private villas, rooftop terraces, fitness centers, kids’ clubs and personalized services such as in-room dining. From adults-only resorts to family-friendly luxury stays, these amenities help turn a standard holiday into a more private and experience-driven getaway.
Best stay types in Edinburgh with private pools
The best accommodation types for Edinburgh stays with private pools vary depending on the travel style and experience you’re looking for.
Villas with private pools are especially popular with couples and families thanks to their extra space, privacy, and luxury feel, often including outdoor lounges, multiple bedrooms, and secluded settings.
Beach resorts with private pool suites are ideal for travelers who want full resort amenities and are looking for that 5-star experience with facilities including spas, restaurants and all-inclusive options while still enjoying their own pool area.
Condos and apartment-style stays are a popular choice for families and longer holidays, offering more flexibility, kitchen facilities, and a balance between comfort and value.
Best time to book a private pool stay in Edinburgh
The best time to stay in an accommodation in Edinburgh with a private pool usually depends on the weather, travel season, and the type of experience you want. Peak travel months are often ideal for warm temperatures, sunny days, and making the most of outdoor spaces, while shoulder seasons can offer fewer tourists and sometimes better stay rates. Families may prefer school holiday seasons when resorts offer more activities and family-friendly amenities, while couples could take advantage of quieter periods for a peaceful stay.
Tips to save on Edinburgh private pool stays
Book early for the best private pool availability. Booking a stay in Edinburgh with a private pool well in advance helps you secure the best room types and rates, especially during peak travel seasons when demand is highest and availability is limited.
Travel during shoulder seasons for better value. Choosing shoulder season dates can offer more competitive pricing, fewer crowds, and better opportunities to enjoy private pool upgrades, all while still experiencing great weather and full access to local attractions.
Bundle flights and stays for extra savings. Package deals that combine flights and stays can often reduce overall trip costs while simplifying planning. This can be a practical way to get better value for a luxury stay in Edinburgh.
Choose stays with included amenities to reduce extras. Look for all-inclusive resorts or properties that include amenities such as breakfast, airport transfers, or spa access. These inclusions can help reduce additional travel expenses and make budgeting your stay more straightforward.
Why book with Expedia?
Booking your stay on Expedia makes it easier to get more out of your trip from the start.
