“Villa Massis is a jungle paradise! It is situated amongst giant trees and large flowering tropical plants, right next to the quiet Mopan River. The pool was beautiful to swim in and lounge around. The staff are incredibly friendly: from the owner Larry to all the support staff, they really want guests to have a good time! They are proud of what this part of Belize has to offer. Larry coordinated transport to and from the airport, and set us up with drivers and guides for tubing down the river,……

“This family run resort on the bank of the Macal River is a true retreat from busy San Ignacio, but only a 10 min ride to the center of town. Mike and the staff is wonderful in meeting all your needs, including arranging transport and accomidating early morning meal times to be sure you can eat before your excursions. Small enough resort that you can get to know other guests and trade stroies about your adventures each day. ”

“Clean room, nice pool, and close to some good restaurants and the San Ignacio marketplace. Easy to hop across the street and get a few snacks or groceries from the grocery store. Staff was flexible and you can pre-order your breakfast the night before on site if you are planning an early tour. Only downside was staying the second food room facing front (hotel guests and nighttime swimmers were a bit loud for someone like me who needed to get to bed early). ”

“Had a two bedroom villa with 3 beds. Very clean and nice with small individual pool. Nice space to come back to after excursions. About a 30 min walk from downtown San Ignacio which wouldn't want to do at night based on having to walk on the street. Can get cabs arranged from hotel.”

“We had an amazing experience staying here. It was close to the shuttle bus, market, restaurants. Having a kitchen made it easier to pack food for next day. Our host was very very helpful! She suggested local restaurant to try and helped us to find a last minute replacement tour early morning as our got cancelled late at night! We were able to leave our luggages there while we went to a half day tour, even after check out time. I highly recommend staying here! ”

“I highly recommend Max Rooms. The staff is very kind, communicative and attentive- they really care about your experience! The house keeping staff keep the premises very clean. I was especially impressed with the freshness if the linens and the comfortable bedding. If there were any issues, it was easy to get in touch with the owner through WhatsApp. Both of the restaurants downstairs are delicious- Caris and Katherine are both sweet and delightful. “10/10 experience! Not only was the resort beautiful the staff were attentive and friendly. Any need I had they went above and beyond to fulfill. The resort also was a 8 min drive from downtown San Ignacio which was very convenient. My cousin and I left sad to leave such a paradise. Highly recommend and hope to come back in the future! ”
