This was a unique experience. I surprised my wife and kiddo with a weekend getaway for Valentine's Day, but was unfortunate enough to have it land on the same weekend as a winter storm with both rapid snowfall and dangerous temperatures. While this made the trip there a little sketchy at times, (the dam was pure ice, be careful!), it had no real effect on the property itself. When we arrived, it was nice and easy to get in, and settle in for the night (although it took a little time to get the heat to a decent level, i can attribute that to the single digit temps and multitude of windows).
The long and short of it is the place is really nice, the view was great (during the winter with no leaves mind you) the beds were fine and everything about it was very homey. If i had to say something negative, it would be the wifi was pretty weak and i couldn't chromecast anything, which was a bummer but also not the reason we booked a cabin in the woods with a beautiful view.
The trip ended unfortunately early however when the real snow started to fall and the temps dropped even further. The power did go out and left us there in quite a bad spot. I will say that the property manager was incredible to work with though and made the best of a bad situation.
All in all, i was very happy with the experience i had with the property and the property management. Next time i take a trip to the area, i will definitely book with them.
