“Highcliffe House has a magical blend of location (impressive views in a charming ‘seaside’ town close to top restaurants and desirable trail heads), ambience (Victorian charm and elevated decor) and comfort (luxurious linens, heavenly beds, good-sized rooms with lots of extra touches). Add to that Richard and Robert’s warm hospitality and, of course, the scrumptious breakfasts and you have a must-experience destination. As a solo traveller, I particularly appreciated the thoughtful, attentive……

“I originally stayed at this B&B about 20 years ago while walking the coastal path, & decided to return as the village was in an ideal place for our touring holiday. The steep driveway & smallish space made for tricky parking with a large car, but doable. Our room was clean & comfortable, if a little dated in style. The owners were welcoming & helpful. Breakfast the next morning set us up for the day. We had a meal in the pub near the beach, & took a stroll around the village.”

“Three things you need to run a great Bed and Breakfast. 1. A great host. 2. A great bed and room. 3. A great breakfast. This place has all three and is the perfect place for a short stay in Ilfracombe. Definitely recommended.”

“Very Helpful and excellent location”

“Happy: helpful staff, great breakfast, Clean and cozy room, comfortable bed, good shower, picturesque window view, 24-hour self service bar, 5 minutes walk to town centre. Unhappy: room too warm during daytime in summer, and we didn't know that dinner must be booked before 4pm, so missed it. Overall a great place to stay, would love to go again and try the dinner.”

“Lovely hosts, really excellent breakfasts, good facilities, clean and comfortable room. A real 10/10 sort of place.”

“Lovely stay, rooms located separate from the pub to keep noise down. Staff were brilliant and very reasonably priced.”

“Our stay at the Lorna Doone B&B could not have been better! We loved everything about our experience in this beautiful house with fantastically friendly hosts. Great room, a delicious breakfast and wonderful people who made us feel like royalty and family at the same time. Certainly one of the best places that we have ever had the luck to experience.”

“This is an excellent family run bed and breakfast in the centre of Tavistock. The room was spacious and even though the room was facing the road, I could not hear any traffic. The location was excellent and I loved the character of the road and houses. I would visit again.”

“Caro the host was lovely and friendly and very hospitable. The old Manor House is beautiful set in rolling countryside. The bedroom was large, beds were comfortable and good shower. Caro provides an excellent breakfast with plenty of choice. Would defo visit again. The Globe Inn nearby does good food and the staff and locals were good fun.”
