Bridleway to Fields Heath, Badminston Common This bridleway leads from Stanswood, across Floating Island valley and on to Fields Heath through Badminston Plantation. The plantation of firs itself is a little further back; here there is well-developed scrub (mostly silver birch) growing to the left of the track.
Dean's Bridge, Floating Island valley Dean's Bridge crosses the stream flowing down the valley south of Badminston Common that leads to Floating Island. Between this bridge and Mopley Pond (upstream) the valley is wooded with oak and birch. Immediately below the bridge the valley is wider and less heavily wooded, but eventually becomes the carr around Floating Island. This bridge and causeway look well-used by horse riders, and is very muddy.
