We were visitors of the Dietzel Motel when it was $50 a night. It has been through several changes, some good, some not so good. Carpets need to be steam cleaned or replaced, as well as bathrooms. The curtains are too light, need lined and black out. Like the king size option, and the fresh paint. Like the price, no frills, just necessities. It was cold this weekend, and the heating leaves a lot to be desired, no way to get a happy medium. No extra blankets in the room. Hope that the owner can and will make some changes, and we will be back.

We checked in on Christmas day and found Lynn and JJ at the office waiting for us. They are the greatest! Our room was ready and warm (it was freezing outside).

If you like retro facilities (1940's) this is the place for you. The compact fridge was sitting on the floor (squat to access it), the room heater had electric coils that made noises when they heated up, and the tiny bathroom had no place to put your stuff (toilet bag, makeup bag, etc.). On the plus side, the hot water worked great and the television displayed a variety of channels. Also, J. J. called us while we were on the road and provided a secret location to retrieve the key since we expected to arrive after 8:00 PM when the office was closed.

It’s old-school motel. You get what you pay for and that makes it great for me. Comfortable bed, clean shower. Park in front of your door. I’m a returning customer.
