Receptionist was very friendly. The room was very quiet, dark and cool. The location is great, we walked to campus in 10-15 minutes. We saw no bugs and would stay here again.
The roaches in the room were friendly enough. Bathtub didn’t drain. Otherwise it was relatively clean for a cheap motel.

Price is affordable so close to University of Florida.
Beds are very comfortable. No clocks in rooms. Free breakfast is just individual wrap sticky buns or small cinnamon rolls. Faint marijuana smell in rooms which is unfortunate. Staff is very nice and helpful.

OK Stay
Gainesville can be expensive on football weekends and school event weekends. This stay was during college move in. We over paid for a very low quality stay. Holes in the black out curtains but other than that room was clean and in pretty good shape. Customer service was lacking at check in. Did not feel welcomed. Pool was closed. Breakfast was very limited and basic. It was in a good location, close to campus and great Korean food across the street. It was an OK stay. Keep your expectations low and you will be fine.
The only good thing was friendly lady who helped with registration. The lobby and room smelled of old dingy building. The ac barely cooled and the shower was difficult to get working. It was either freezing or burning hot. The beds were hard as rocks. It was very inexpensive so I just chalked it up to you get what you pay for. Oh yeah the pool was closed as well. I was glad to leave.
The beds were good and the AC was cold. But the mat of dust on the TV, the hair in the shower and the cockroach INFESTATION was hard to get over. We stopped killing cockroaches after about the 15th kill. The breakfast was Little Debbie donuts and rancid OJ. I didn’t have the heart to try the apple juice. It’s a cool property with SO much historical potential. It’s just being neglected.
It was clean, the front office staff were friendly. The bed was reasonably comfortable. The rooms are all supposedly non-smoking, but my room reeked of tobacco smoke. The TV and remote did not work properly, it would only turn on/off and change volume. I hope you like Bravo, it's the only channel you get to watch. The bathroom was functional but in rough shape. There is very little sound insulation between rooms. It sounded like the people above me were playing hopscotch all night long.
1st, I like old hotels. The hotel was built in the 50's and apparently was the "spot" with a night club and restaurant. I think it could be that again with some investment and attention to detail. It presents as tired, relatively clean, it looks like DIY when they last painted and updated the rooms and lobby. Suggest a person go through all the rooms with a razor blade to tidy the paint jobs. Rusty door hinges and banged up door frames. Need door seeps to keep the critters out from the entry door. The pool was out of order, bummer but reasonable understandable! Drainage for the monsoon storm we had created a curtain of water to the parking lot. Easy fix with a covered pergola over the sidewalks leading to the lots. The bed was comfortable but on a metal platform that made a noise when you rolled over sounding like an old furnace with the metal expanding. Rething the dated chair, its too low. A/C was excellent, staff are helpful. I'd like to see this old lady shine again.
We were very happy with our stay. The purpose of our trip was to attend the Gators game with our kids. The stadium was walking distance from our hotel and we also had dinner at Indian Aroma which is right across the street. The room was clean and comfortable with plenty of fresh clean towels. The lady allowed us early check in too so that was a plus.
Only disappointment was breakfast. It was just a few wrapped sugary pastries. Coffee was also not good. Aside from that it was a pleasant stay and we will be back with our own breakfast supplies next time.
Gross room with stains either blood or poop on the lamp shade and floor was coming up dirt on the floors one sheet had green gum chewed on it and worst of all they are what used to be a days inn meaning they lost the naming rights to the worst franchise possible because of how bad they are! Was awful tbh
