Totally adorable cottages and amenities. Felt like something out of a movie. As everyone else has said, the breakfast was great and so unique. We had the hot tub to ourselves which was good because it’s definitely small but was great to have after a long drive. Pool looked like it could use some TLC but wasn’t bad. Don’t think the heater was on though either. Walkable to several spots. We tried V Pizza and the wings were incredible. Only downside would be that it’s surrounded by areas that seem a bit sketch. Three times we were in the Cushman-Colson house, and twice in the McKenzie house. We were planning to stay in a cottage but it was not available at the last minute. We always feel so welcome here. It is walking distance to several restaurants and a park. We love to stay here when travelling through Gainesville for the individual, unique rooms in these historic, lovingly restored mansions. The grounds are beautiful and I often enjoy the outdoor pool. The hot breakfast is always a treat. We hope to return again! People who have problems with stairs may note there are a few ground floor rooms in the Cushman-Coleman house and the cottages are all on the ground floor. The suite was charming, spotless, and full of character — it felt like stepping back in time but with all the modern comfort you’d want. The staff were genuinely warm and attentive, and breakfast was top-notch — fresh, homemade, and served in a beautiful dining area. The grounds are stunning too, with peaceful gardens and cozy spots to relax. If you’re visiting Gainesville and want something way more memorable than a typical hotel, this is it.
