Crowders Mountain State Park has a wealth of great trails which end with great views of North Carolina piedmont. The two main destinations are Crowders Mountain (2.8 mile walk from Sparrow Springs Access) or the Pinnacle or King's Pinnacle. The Pinnacle trail is a pleasant 2 miles trek uphill through rich forest. The last little bit has some rock scrambling with signs that urge carefulness. But the views are stupendous, especially with fall colors in full display. (About 45 minutes west of Charlotte, NC)

"The Lake House was accurately listed, and a Wonderful relaxing vacation home. The small beach area was great along with the fire pit, canoes and dock. Inside was very comfortable and well stocked with all the essentials. The neighborhood was safe and quiet. the hosts were easy to get in contact with. If we get an opportunity, we will definitely stay here again. It was everything you would imagine a Lake Cottage would be like."

"To no fault of the hotel I wouldn't recommend walking past the stoplight nearby. Saw a few panhandlers at the stoplight nearby at both sides. Daytime I think is ok but I'd be careful after dark. The hotel itself is pretty good though. "
