You do need a car to be able to get out and about and explore the lovely area, we managed to get to Truro (Healeys Cider Farm)/Perranporth, Boscastle and Instow (perfect for our dogs, who enjoyed the run on the beach) and all within about an hour away and then you come back to a very comfortable property, at the end of your day to relax and unwind. "Arrived late at our stay and then realised that we had in fact booked for the weekend after! Disaster after a 6 hour drive and very little options. We apologised and explained the error to our host. Amazingly and also luckily the host immediately went to work setting up an alternative glamping pod for us to stay in. The place was immaculate, hosts are extremely friendly and everything about the trip was perfect and as described. We will certainly be returning."

"Very pleased to walk into chalet and find it extremely clean and comfortable. Only downside was no outside seating area and struggled to dry swimming costumes and wetsuits outside."

"I thought the rooms were amazing for the price, the AC was a god send and the pressure in the shower was great. I was extremely happy with the rooms and would gladly visit again. The course was amazing, really well kept and the staff were really polite and friendly. The only gripe that we had is that the time waiting to order and for the food to come wasn’t very good. We ate at Trethorne all three nights and it was the same every night. We even had to approach the bar to order our food on the second night. Larger tables were asked if their food was ok 2 or 3 times but we barely got a look from the waiter/waitresses."

"Welcoming hotel with helpful staff. Lovely old country house, very comfortable bed in delightful upper room with incredible views. Some tired and old decor in breakfast room but other areas well maintained and clean. Disappointed not to have had a shower in the bathroom, only a bath and had to ask for more shower gel and soap as it was not replaced."

"We had the most wonderful stay at Bude on the Beach while celebrating our anniversary. We were so pleased to be surprised with a room upgrade, which made our stay even more special. When we got to our room, we found a lovely handwritten anniversary note waiting for us – such a thoughtful gesture that really made us smile. The staff were fantastic throughout our stay. Every single person we spoke to was warm, friendly and genuinely helpful, and nothing ever seemed too much trouble. It’s those little touches and the excellent service that really set this hotel apart. The location is unbeatable, with beautiful sea views and just a short walk to everything Bude has to offer. It was the perfect place to relax and enjoy a few days away. We honestly couldn’t fault our stay and we left already talking about when we would return. Thank you to everyone at Bude on the Beach for making our anniversary so memorable. We wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this hotel and can’t wait to return!"

"Great place on the Cornwall/Devon border, equidistant from the stuff you can do in the Southwest. The food they serve is great, as is the staff I interacted with. An EV charger in the same parking area is very helpful, as well. I was surprised that my single room didn't have a TV. The water pressure and heat when trying to shower were never consistent (but usually okay). While not a comment about this hotel, know that this area doesn't have much for stuff to do. If you're on vacation here, the hotel is where you go to call it a night and relax. Knowing all this, I would definitely keep this place in mind the next time I do a Southwest holiday."
