A good base to explore the lake coast. convenient to the Montague Hart biking trail. Hotel Staff was pleasant. The breakfast is basic, but it gives you some choice (try the Brunch House in Muskegon). The room appeared refreshed and we looked out into White Lake. Some road noise from Dowling St. and the bridge. Some comments on the room 222: * The hotel spotlight on the balcony deck can’t be turned off by the staff and it is a deal breaker. Shines all day & night. You can’t enjoy the balcony at night because it is so bright. The room had black out shades in addition to the Venetian blinds, but they were only so-so. Didn’t really matter because the balcony door didn’t have the black out shades on it. Regardless, if you like to leave the window open for fresh air, you then get the bright light. * room really needs a chest of drawers. We were there for 3 night and the closet wasn’t enough room. The couch became the clothes area * I recommend the hotel also add some simple hooks in the entry way for coats and purses, etc. * we didn’t use the whirlpool, but that’s a nice feature. Forget about relaxing with a glass of wine and looking at the stars (see light above). * it would be better if the shades in front on the tub were configured so the adjustment rod was to the right so we didn’t have to climb into/over the tub to open/close. * Pillows are not super good. Need firmer/fuller. * Please spring clean the cobwebs/dirt from the window jambs- you can see when you open the windows.
